Awesome~

Easily one of my favorites with Amano's art, a beautiful but sad tale with Amano's incredible art to bring the mythical tale to life~ Five Stars and worth your money.

Amazing

This book is simply breathtaking,in words and picture. It is so overwhelmingly beautiful and subtle at the same time. I was knocked over.

Excellent Read

I was a little surprised when I got this book, since at first glance it seemed like an art book. After taking a better look at it, it did have a story but the books main features are it's beautifully drawn art work. This book follows an oriental theme and it is very evident in the whole book.

Very Different, Very Cool

I love Gaiman, and especially his Sandman work, so I decided to check this book out. I discovered it to be something entirely different from his other work. Wheras the other Sandman literature is in the form of comics and graphic novels, this one is more like an illustrated story. And instead of taking place in North America and Europe like the other works, this one takes place in Japan and draws upon Japanese mythology and folklore for the story. It is a wonderful tale, though, and the artwork is amazing. Fans of Sandman might really like this, although some may feel somewhat misled because of how different it is. I enjoyed it thoughourally.

Awesome story, exquisite artwork!!!

I've had my copy for awhile, and it's probably one of my most-beloved books of all time! It's really a rather short story, but a beautiful tale nonetheless. But the real selling factor here is the artwork. As one of Japan's premiere artists, Amano has won four Seiun awards and is the visual concept designer for the Final Fantasy series. His work is absolutely breathtaking, and this book is a perfect example of it. In this book you will find etheral, haunting paintings with a traditional Japanese feel to them which seem to take on their own life. He uses color dramatically, whether in a few somber tones or wild splashes of color that take your breath away. I would definitely recommend this book simply for the artwork! So go buy it already!!!!
