Review of Visual Coloring

I enjoyed this book. It is visually very appealing. However, I have read every book Joen has ever written and I would say that there are a lot of beautiful pictures to back up a pretty simplistic notion: find fabrics in colors that match color schemes you think are beautiful. And I do think that the quilts created from those palettes were interesting but that they also showed an important corollary that was never explored... if you really love a color combination and want to translate that feeling to a quilt, use similiar proportions of the colors.

So, while I do not think this was Joen's best work on the subject of design, it was excellent eye candy, and reading it was a very pleasant way to spend an evening.

Glad I bought it

Visual Coloring is a great concept for quilters. The book has fabulous pictures and ideas. The book contains some patterns of the quilts used as examples; however, I would really have liked to have had patterns for each of the sample quilts.
