I found it good as a book to read while in the potty, but not too good as a reference book, well you can use it to start a good research on any of the interesting facts in the book, but youll only find short answers, and then youll move to other books on the matter..
You will also find it very interesting, because it will give you many topics to talk about with friends, or while meeting anybody..
For example...
Bears at zoos, doesnt hibernate, because they only do that when the dont find much food, and in winter season.
You never know when that question will come up and you have to settle a bet or a dispute as someone invariably will ask a question that you may know or have an idea as to the correct response but with this book you've got the correct answer.
The book is set-up into categories and are as follows:
Physics and ChemistrySpaceEarth Climate and WeatherMinerals and other MaterialsEnergyEnvironmentBiologyPlant WorldAnimal World Human BodyHealth and MedicineWeights, Measures, Time, Tools, and WeaponsBuildings, Bridges, and Other StructuresBoats, Trains, Cars, and PlanesCommunicationsGeneral Science and Technology
Wouldn't it be great if someone would just collect the answers to some of life's mysteries? Like, just what is syzygy? Why is the sky blue? The answers to these and other questions abound in this book. The answers are written in non-technical language and provide either a succinet response or a more elaborate explanation, depending on the nature of the question. Definitions to scientific terminology are given within the answer itself, and bothmetric and U.S. Customary measurements are listed. Following the main Question and Answer section are suggestions for further reading(most of which were used to answer varoius questions) and the index.
I would recommend this volume for your home library... you never know when your children, grand children, or just yourself will need to find an answer. Or if you suddenly need to know the life span of a chimpanzee. Its in the book you'll find it downright handy.
