Excellent
Many cookbooks contain interesting
recipes
... but my favorite cookbooks also count as a good read. This one is a new favorite -- my mother was GRITS (Girl Raised In The South), so many of the foods are familiar to me, and I am happy to have more recipes. And I spent a happy afternoon reading, which is always a big plus for me. Great addition to my collection.

What makes Virginia's book a real enjoyment to me are the results
from these
recipes
. I have not been disappointed by a single one. When you prepare one of Virginia's recipes and serve it or take it to a party you will get raves from your guests. The smells and taste from her style of

fit what I am looking for when I cook. The results are produced with uncomplicated methods and technique. This is great food you can enjoy without hours of preparation. My
three favorites
(if I have to pick any) are the Coca Cola Glazed Ribs, the Pots de Creme, and the Green Beans Provencial. My family licks the cruets of the Pots de Creme until they are clean. This is
