Fabulous Ideas!

This book is loaded with great and practical ideas - new and fresh! Not the same old, same old. I want to knit them all!

Very lovely book

My one "beef" with this product was the lay out of the pictures in orientation to the actual patterns. I prefer to glance over at what I'm supposed to be making,and with this book the pictures are in an entirely different section. Not helpful for us visual knitters who wonder "does this look like it's supposed to be looking?"

Taken Aback...

I had considered buying both One Skein books for quite a long time. I figured that they had been very high up in the knitting book sales for a very long time, they had great reviews, and I thought that would mean something. The very first pattern that I tried (the eyelet shrug) had errors. I went to the Storey website for the errata and ended up printing out forty seven pages of errata for both books. Then, the corrections weren't even complete for the pattern that I was working on. Wow. On the flip side, I have done enough knitting to work out the errors, sometimes before they even occur. My shrug turned out terrific, and I think that I will be making quite a few more of the patterns in this book. I take apart sweaters from the thrift store for the wool, and this will be a good resource for me. Just be aware of the multitude of errors, be prepared to work around them, make notes about them, and be prepared to use these patterns again and again.

Great resource for quick projects

useful small projects collection

This is another excellent resource for small knitting projects that use up leftovers. I like it better than the first book and the fact that the projects are organized by weight of yarn. There are some charts but mainly all the patterns are written out. "About the designers" in back of book is interesting reading also. Good purchase for any knitter. I found only one crochet pattern and suggest next to the publisher to come up with an all crochet collection.
