Liked it

This was an entertaining way to pass the time. I got the book in a stack that I bought on ebay. It is a follow-up to Sarah's Child and I actually liked it better.

A great little romance.

I have always loved English guys and Max Conroy is no different, real or not. I loved this love story. Linda Howard knows romance.

Surprisingly poignant!

Afetr reading the reviews, I wasn't expecting much, but, I was in for a pleasant surprise! This seems to be one of Linda Howard's earlier works and considering that, the story was very engrossing and highly sensual. Max was incredibly hot and his passion and possessiveness for Claire just seemed perfect to me. This is one book romance lovers should not miss out on because you just might love this very tender yet sensual read!

I loved it! Great story!

The author had interesting plot and characters that were refreshing. I did not predict some of the details that would happen. This book was very enjoyable, creative and different from the typical romance novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it. I don't want to give anything away because it is more fun to read without knowing what will happen. But I will provide the beginning of the plot, which is included on the back cover of the book. The setting is current day corporate world in Houston and Dallas, Texas. Max works for company "A" that plans to do a corporate takeover of company "B". Claire is a secretary at company "B". Max plans to charm her into giving him secret information about company "B" without telling her who he is. Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: three. Copyright: 1986. Genre: contemporary romance.

Max and Claire...what a pair!!

Just got done reading this Linda Howard book and loved it. Very simple love story with great characters you love. I wish Linda Howard hadn't gone into all that paranormal, mystery romance stuff in her new books. She use to be one of my favorite romance authors but she has gone the way of Brenda Joyce, Karen Robard's, Sandra Brown in her writing. Why can't the romance stories be just that...romance and not all this stupid ghost, paranormal, mystery man stuff???
This is one of Linda's early writings and worth reading!
