A Reminder on Terrors' Possibilities

A friend gave me this book as a gift. It's a beautiful love story, well-written, easy to read and hauntingly attesting to our ability to recover from the losses the terrorists bring to our lives.

This is not a traditional formulaic thriller

Charlie Mann has written a fast-paced, intellectual thriller, one in which deception, politics, and secrecy all combine to sweep the reader along. It retains the suspense of Robert Ludlum 'The Paris Option' with the build up found in Britt Gillette's 'Conquest of Paradise'. From the freak winters of the California desert to the political rat race of Washington, DC, the plot twists and turns as the protagonists (and the reader) learn more and more about a plot that becomes more and more believable. This is not a traditional formulaic thriller

Complex Nail Biter

Mann's stellar success stems not only from his ability to do the research and his mastery of the subject matter, but, moreover, from his gift for spinning a complex nail-biter.

This book has a solid five star rating in its soft cover version and it costs far more. As far as I know, this is the only electronic version yet available on this well rated seller.

Wonderful

This novel is absolutely wonderful. I was totally surprised to find out who the Controller was. Fast paced and impossible to put down. If you like thrillers, read this one. You won't be sorry.

The new cabinet level Homeland Security Department is in place and the assignments have been made to cover all bases. Suddenly, there is an unexplained security breach. There is a major escape at the newest and most secure federal prison. It was designed to keep terrorists away from the public. Now, due to a computer failure, no one knows how many have escaped or who they are. This is technology that the government must keep out of terrorists' hands.

California's governor had fought the prison's location from the start which resulted in a political issue. The president dispatches his 9/11 Commission's Report created Special White House national security agent, Eric Blue, to investigate. An immediate turf war develops with the pretty local Los Angeles FBI Officer-in-Charge, Sonya Kate.
