Great Book!

While it was a little annoying that it did not follow a complete story, Star Wars Legacy: Shards is a great book. It shows the complete story of the Sith's plan and it shows the origin of how Cade Skywalker became a bounty hunter. Not to mention some old characters make appearances.... Bottom line, I would reccomend this book to any Star Wars fan!

More of a setup for the next volume than an actual stand-alone story

Star Wars Legacy: Shards is a collection of issues from the comic book series of the same name. The series is set in the "future" of the movie universe - a time during which Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and most of the other well-known heroes are long dead (though their influence remains). The series uses a dark tone similar to that of Empire Strikes Back, and is not for young children or those that can't handle mature subject matter.

Unlike the first volume, the stories collected in Shards do not follow one primary thread - they are small pieces and backstories that help to define the Legacy universe as a whole. These stories are quite varied, and tend not to focus on the principle characters in the previous volume (Cade Skywalker, the main character in Broken, for instance, doesn't even make an appearance in this volume until 3/4ths of the way through). The nature of this volume might disappoint readers that want more of the epic Star Wars flavor that was found in Broken, but they should be happy with the next Legacy volume, _Claws of the Dragon_, that uses the background built here to present an enthralling adventure readers won't want to miss.

Note: Shards contains issues four, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, and thirteen of the comic book series.

Well worth it

Well worth the price. The book is well put together, great art work and a good story. I'm happy I got it and I'll be getting the next one in a few weeks when it comes out.

A nice continuation

It's a great continuation of the story started in "Broken," despite its somewhat Imperial focus for much of the book. It manages to maintain the pace of "Broken" while still getting the story across and finding a place for a little humour.

Cade Skywalker returns to the place of his father's last stand against the Sith and finds far more than ghosts in this volume filled with revelations about the future of Star Wars! Discover how the Empire joined forces with the Sith to defeat the Galactic Alliance in the war to dominate the galaxy - only to have Darth Krayt and his legion of followers usurp ultimate power for themselves! Follow the fate of an Empire divided, with battles pitting stormtrooper against stormtrooper, and Sith assassins bent on taking the life of deposed Emperor Roan Fel! Witness a galaxy in turmoil, and the decisions that will shape its future forever!
