Aesthetically Appealing and Stylish

I am overall quite pleased with the Boho address book. It is a very attractive little book with a colorful, floral cover that is both whimsical and slightly Bohemian looking at the same time (picture Parisian flea market chic). This is definitely not the most utilitarian address book available, to be sure, but if you're seeking style over function this item may be a good choice for you. As it is a journal type of address book, the Boho has a hard cover with a sturdy cloth binding. The pages are basically untreated paper that may tear easily, the alphabet tabs in particular being at most risk for damage. Although it does not lay totally flat as would a spiral bound book, it still stays open well enough as the spine is strong. The layout is unique in that there is a separate section for general addresses, services (no need to search for the plumber's number amongst those of family and friends), restaurants, and birthdays/anniversaries (each month has its own page). I particularly like the fact that each letter has its own few pages instead of bunching them together in the same section (such as A, B, and C sharing the same pages without division). The entry spaces are a bit compact due to the overall small size of the book, but should not be too small to jot down basic names and contact info (unless a family has many children!) One major drawback is that there are no spaces for either cellular or work phone numbers, just places for a home phone number, a fax number, and an e-mail address. There is, though, a handy quick reference section at the beginning for emergency numbers, doctors, schools, neighbors, etc. The Boho address book is surely not the most practical one available, but it will meet your basic needs and look attractive, which is always a plus if kept in a conspicuous place. I just question how long it will last as the pages are not terribly durable and I suspect those with many contacts will run out of space in due time as there is no way to expand the book.

Like the Layout.

This book fits my needs. I prefer address books that open perfectly flat -- my favorite was one with a binder comb opening -- but if you don't mind forcing this one flat, to me the page "layout" is perfect. I personally don't like address books with dedicated spaces for name, address, home, work, fax, cell, kids' names, comments, etc. What about those entries for which you only need one line...say, for the phone number? Half or more of my entries are like that. In that regard, this book is just right. YOU decide how much room you need for each entry: Designate the space you want and draw a simple line to separate it from the next entry! The annoying part is Amazon's failure to give the book's size and whether the dividers are A-Z or AB-WXYX, as I don't like dividers that combine letters. By the way, I typically type out a page for family and stick it to the F divider with some Post-it Notes glue and do the same for restaurants (under "R," obviously), utilities, stores, etc.
