The only reason I deduct one star is because the first edition of the book contains many written mistakes. I will be returning this edition.

There are a variety of shapes and garments here that you can try. Very nice! If you are an experienced yarn worker you can easily adjust the garments to fit your size and length preferences (i.e. make a short skirt longer or vice versa)

I love this book and think it is a must have for anyone who is interested in crocheted garments, especially ones they actually plan on wearing. The patterns are useful as learning tools but I believe the most valuable portion of the book is the first section regarding the design and fitting of the crochet clothing.

Genius

Lily Chin is a genius. This was a real breakthrough book for me. Her instructions on patterns and blocking especially. She describes different methods with simple yet detailed enough instructions. The alternate methods presented helped me to find my own way. I completed my first garment (string shell shirt - not one from her book!) and it is the best fitting thing I have ever made, and I have not crocheted clothing for years (always was disappointed). This one I wore without hesitation.

Glad I Bought it

I wasnt sure about this book at first...thought it might be too advanced for me. I was wrong. I havent gone through the entire book yet but I have already learned some new technigues and gotten some great tips. I like the way the book is written....easy to understand and very down to earth. I know I am going to get a LOT of use out of this book when I design my first sweater. If you need a book to help you get more out of crocheting garments, THIS is the one. :)

Great book

Lily Chin is an expert on crochet who shares her knowledge with us in this publication. It is a great book on how to create your own designs plus it has some wonderful designs to crochet. Great reference book--but not for beginners. She assumes some prior knowledge of basic crochet.
