Revelation!
This book is a revelation! It should be read by everyone who is interested in learning some new things about the inequities in our
tax
law
.
Well done!

Insightful, informative, and surprising
Professor Snyder has a masterful grasp of his subject in this terrific book dealing with unfairness in our
tax
es. Many of the inequities he exposes are not known to the general public, and I was shocked to read how people of the same income level are treated differently by our government. His text and insightful footnotes explain the origin and rationalization behind this discrimination, and I believe anyone who pays taxes would enjoy and benefit greatly by reading this book.

A Real Eye Opener
This book really opened my eyes. I never fully understood how unfairly people of the same income status were
tax
ed. Snyder's explanation of the gross inequities in our tax system is excellent, and I would call this book "required reading" for every freshman Senator and Congressman, as well as the ordinary taxpayer.
Lori Shactman
Plaistow, N.H.
The goal of this book is to expose a number of areas in the
tax
law which
illustrate the discrimination that has become deeply embedded in our tax system over the past 80 years. The special tax benefits received by one group of taxpayers are paid for by those who do not get these benefits, even where the two groups are essentially in the same income class. The book demonstrates how the Congress and the IRS are locked into a system which is replete with time-worn dichotomies, while the lobbyists and many tax experts thrive on the complexities of a broken system. The book proposes some innovative solutions to these problems, including a single-rate tax structure for all sources of income, which would eliminate the built-in discrimination against working people, widows, and single persons.
