Past Transgressions

Nikki and William Broussard met while in college. Nikki never thought she was a beautiful girl, but William immediately fell in love with her. They married after college and lived in New Orleans with their daughter, Psalm. William ran a successful computer business, while Nikki stayed home and raised their daughter. After Hurricane Katrina, the family moved to Shreveport where William rebuilt his computer business. As a hardworking family man, William didn't want Nikki working outside the home; Nikki wanted to work, but to show how much she loved her husband she kept that thought hidden inside.

Nikki has secrets from her past that she's never revealed to anyone, not even William. She's saved now and tries to lead a Christian life, but when her peaceful world starts to unravel, her faith is tested and she must decide to let God be in control or take control herself. William is nominated to run for mayor after his pastor and mentor is murdered and every aspect of their lives is being probed. Will Nikki's past transgressions harm William's political career and their marriage?

SCANDALOUS TRUTH touches on several topics: politics, betrayal, lust, friendship, deceit, forgiveness, faith, and love. It also is filled with suspense and murder. The characters are powerful and the book is thought-provoking without being preachy. The book kept me engrossed from its beginning to its shocking end. This is the first book I've read by this author and I look forward to reading more.

Suspenseful

Wives usually try to do whatever it takes to make their husbands happy. While husbands tend to do the same, there are times when a man wants to prove he is the provider for his family. In doing so he tends to squash his wife's dreams with his belief that her place is in the house, taking care of the home and their child. Scandalous Truth by Monica P. Carter brings to light just how far a wife will go to make sure her husband is happy.

Nikki Broussard wants to be the best wife, mother, and friend she could ever be. Anything her husband, William, or her best friend, Danielle, tells her to do, Nikki has no problem obliging. When an opportunity presents itself for William to fulfill one of his life's goals, she encourages him to go for it. Deciding his wife is right, William begins the process, but not without some information coming to light. How much will Nikki and William have to call on the Lord in their trying time? Will they make it or is there just too much scandal for them to handle?

The characters and the plot are well developed. I truly enjoyed the suspense aspect of the story. It started off a little slow for me, but once all the drama began I could not get enough of these characters. My emotions were so high, that at one point I could not stop the tears. I recommend Scandalous Truth to the reader who wants more than just a Christian fiction book. Readers of suspense will equally appreciate this novel.

Scandalous

This book was a very good read. Finished it in about 3-4 days, didn't really put it down. Another one of those fiction books that could have very well happenned in real life.

When is the movie coming out?

I truly enjoyed this book. I was in search of a novel that was christian in nature and in my pursuit, I stumbled across a gold mind. Many of the conflicts that Nikki was struggling with I find that they are the exact same things that God is dealing with me. I must trust that God's love covers a multitude of sins and my sins have been forgiven. Better yet, there is no condemnation for them that love God. What do I have to fear about my past.

Every one has a "was" state as my Pastor informed us in bible study. The fact of the matter is the growth of that individual and fruit that one bears once he or she is saved by the grace of God. There should be some sign as the old folks say, and as I look into Nikki's life, I see a women that has been changed and so have I.

I now have the strength and the assurance to tell my story being grateful that my past can be a blessing and prayerfully will prevent other young women from committing the same sins I did because I felt reject, but praise God for adopting me in to his family!

Ms. Carter, thank you so much for allowing me to learn so much and may the Lord continue to strengthen you and keep you!

Monica Carter-Tagore's books are always of award winning caliber. Starting back with her first book As If Nothing Happened, I was hooked on her circular style of writing. It's always seamless. The clues are dropped perfectly throughout the story and her style is never rushed. This story is no exception. As you read along you know what is due to occur as it is part of the synopsis, however, you are always left with your mouth agape at how things turn out. Great message and Good strong Christian Fiction writing Monica... again!
