Book Review

Excellent book! This book was much easier to read and to follow than the American Version. It also had additional information that was interesting to read. I highly recommend reading this book if you are into higher magic. For the first time, I understand what I am doing. It explains why it is necessary to keep track of the hour, planets, signs, angels, colors, herbs, and incense....to make it easier to conjure up spirits. And we all know how hard that can be! So we need all the help we can get! And this book gives you the help you are looking for!

I highly recommend the [...] sets. While the picture seems to show their editions as spiral-bound, their books are actually very good quality paperbacks with solid binding. The brown is simply a cover decoration. They are intended to be read, not placed on a shelf to be admired. Also, a huge advantage as described famously by Douglas Adams, they are slightly cheaper than the competition, always good when you might have curious family or students who borrow your things. No worries about your ancient leather bound grimore being left in a laptop bag next to an overheated battery and a leaking soda can.

If that's not enough, you have a second benefit. At the [...] site you can see and read all their books for free. If you are interested in seeing exactly what you can expect, just go to the site, find the book you are interested in, and look! How many publishers allow you to test-drive their books in their entirety for free? I recently obtained the Key of Solomon, the Lesser Key of Solomon, The Magus, and the Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, all from their site at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. What convinced me that they were my best bet was being able to read them in advance and see that all the seals and illustrations are intact despite the low cost. Wonderful for reference.

The best version of the Key of Solomon at the moment.

This edition is based on Mathers translation but information from other versions of the Key of Solomon is added which makes this version much more complete. The notes by the translator are also very valuable.

There are other versions of the Key of Solomon on the way that will probably be better then this one but at the moment I would recomend this version over Mathers anytime. The price is also very good.

"The Key of Solomon, Clavis Salomonis, is a medieval book on magic originally attributed to King Solomon. It is sometimes used as a grimoire.

It is possible that the Key of Solomon inspired later works such as the Clavicula Salomonis ("The Lesser Key of Solomon") also called Lemegeton, although there are many differences between the books. What may have inspired the Lemegeton are the conjurations and rituals of purification, and in a less important way, the clothing and magic symbols.
