Take Him A Nation: A Novel of Independent Scotland

This morning at 4 a.m. I finished reading Take him a Nation. I couldn't put it down. The book is fascinating! I could not stop reading it, there is a message of hope. A truly wonderful masterpiece!! I hope that the dreamer of a rabbi found himself also!

Great feat of imagination

This is a strange, fascinating and serious book. It needs and deserves a careful reading. The writer describes it in his title as 'A Novel of Independent Scotland. " But the hero of the story is a Jew, Scotland's Chief Rabbi. The story is set in the near future and tells of the Jewish community well assimilated but in the end forced to flee the country. The rabbi is the man who gathered the Jews together and led them in this exodus despite his reluctance and their misgivings.

The author chose to publish his story using the pen name Robert Morris. The "Robert reminds the reader of Roberts Kings of Scotland in particular Robert the Bruce who fought for the independence of Scotland; the "Morris" might be a substitute for Moses who led his people out of Egypt.

This book is one of a kind, a great feat of imagination, firmly rooted in reality. It is a novel to be read more than once each time with deeper appreciation.

A Brave Book

Take Him A Nation is a wonderful novel that keeps the readers' attention throughout and is full of surprises. This is a very brave book. Robert Morris has an amazing font of knowledge which he generously shares with the reader. How nice to find good people in the pages of this novel, not just anti-heroes, maladjusted folks and such as too often we find in modern literature. Morris' people come alive and the reader cares about them. Of course there are also villains, but what a pleasure to find again heroic characters in the pages of a fine novel. This is a book about an Independent Scotland in the near future, and it is also a tale of Jewish life. A captivating, intriguing, and informative book! Kudos to the author!
