Could The Bible Be More Clear?

In today's age of feminism, it becomes even more important for us as confessing and Christian husbands to give no ground to the schemes of the devil. It is squarely 100% our responsibility to engage with the world on the basis of our biblical mandate.

But we must be informed as to that role. Step up, Dr Scott.

'First of all, God's perfect love overshadows all of His dealings with us. His love for us is never inactive. We know this because of the biblical word "hesed". This Hebrew word refers to God's relationship with us and means 'steadfast loving-kindness' or 'covenant loyalty' (Psalm 36:7; Isaiah 63;7). The word carries with it the ideas of both love and faithfulness. Therefore a biblical relationship has enduring love. Everything that is done in a biblical relationship should be in keeping with this kind of love.' pg 53

This book is practical, but also biblical throughout. I was blessed to actually find so much truth, not only on the topic, but also on our wrong ideas, words and actions.

This book is a watershed for men - married or single. It can serve as a tremendous and balanced resource for men in the Body of Christ.

A solid book on marriage

This book is solid start to finish. First it lays out the Biblical and theological foundations of who God is and who we are, and after that it goes deep into every Biblical responsibility of Christian husbands. Not only will it make clear our goal to love our wives as Christ loved the Church but deal with the problems and challenges most men will face in their Christian walk.

The author Nouethic counseling experience and pastorship come in handy as experience is shown in the way he handles every theme. This is an honest, deeply Biblical study of what a real Christian husband should be. Also it helps in understanding all our relationships in this fallen world.

Highly reccomended!

It's about God, not about you

This book, lest some reviewers miss the point, is about God's plan for marriage as divinely inspired in His Word, the Bible. It is not about cultural differences, feminist "equality" nor male dominance. God set up the marriage relationship based on a hierarchy that pre-dates history. It is about establishing a leader, with others as followers, just as The Father can be thought of as the Head of the Trinity, with Jesus doing The Father's will. We, as Christians are His children. There is a family hierarchy based upon this holy Trinitarian hierarchy. It's thoroughly biblical and has nothing to do with whether or not one lives in 21st century America with its attendant notions of "equality" within marriages. Biblically speaking, while the Bible says a husband should cherish, serve and love his wife (and vice versa), it also says the husband IS, like it or not, the head of the household.

Of course, if the Christian does not set as his or her base of operations the Bible, the very Word of God, then she is free to set her own rules to demand "equal" parnership. But it is not biblical.

And therein lies a sticking point for unbiblical Christians; they want their marriages set up as contemporary cultural marriages rather than on how God says marriages should be structured. I am certain feminist readers will find much to object to here, but they'd better take it up with God, not with the writer of this book.

God is good

If you really want to know what it means to be a husband, this book is for you. It teaches us about what God would desire us men to be and how God wants us to lead us toward him. For those starting out in marriage, those currently married, it is a fantastic book!
