excellent portrayal of washington

both of my children have read this book as part of their history studies. it is a well written, clear and concise portrayal of George Washingtons' life. it is formatted in such a way that beginning readers can easily pronounce multi-syllable words. an excellent read for any age that has an interest in washingtons' life.

This 1893 reprint is largely devoted to Washington s life during the American Revolution, however, the main purpose according to the author was to give its young readers a distinct and vivid idea of the exalted character and priceless services of the man who was commonly referred to as the Father of his Country.
