A Guide to the Use of Scottie's Other Books
This one could be seen as the manual to using the
mat
erial in Scott's other texts on the
grappling arts
. Good to see a reference to the
Judo side
of things(I'm not a current Judoka).
It is his usual to the point style where he pushes the material not himself.
I would love to meet the author and hear him talk about this stuff and demonstrate it (perferably not on me).
Much Better
I thought this book was much better than Mr. Scott's previous books. I have used many of the
drills
in my club since reading this. Some of the drills are simple and common but that is to be expected in any type of coaching drill book. Most of these are great ideas to shake up a practice. I hope Mr. Scott writes more books for teaching or practicing
Judo because
there are not many out there that focus on drills and ways to practice Judo beyond what was written decades ago. These would be a valued resources for any new instructor or an instructor that wants something to keep his current
grapplers awake
.
