Teenage/Young Adult fiction.

Even as an adult I love to read books that are also written for children and teenagers, there are some great books out there for these age groups that are often just as appealing to adults.
As far as teenage fiction goes, this one is pretty average. I didn't dislike the book, it just wasn't great.
Misty introduces the reader to a therapy session that involves four girls revealing their personal story. Misty's story revolves around the divorce of her parents, their hatred towards each other and the impact this has had on her.
Very different from the usual style of V C Andrews books that often centre around darker themes and familty secrets, this book is very much toned down, and seems almost like an introduction for a younger reader to the V C Andrews collection.
The first of a series of 5 books, "Misty" is followed by the book "Star".

Amazing

This is the first VC Andrews book I've read, but definately not the last! My friend told me it was really good, and I had to read it - and she was right! Some people have mentioned that V.C. Andrews must be targeting a younger audience with the Wildflowers Miniseries, but I disagree. In "Misty" a young teenage girl (Misty) goes to her counsuler and meets three girls that have similar problems to her's (the three girls are named Cat, Jade, and Star). Misty tells her story to the girls, and after her sad story, they all feel closer together. Misty's parents are divorced because her dad found a younger woman (who's almost the same age as Misty!) and her mom is image obsessed. After the divorce, Misty's grades go down, her friends drift away from her, and she finds herself in 2 bad relationships, both which end abruptly. This book is very good, but very short, and also very suggestive. I reccommed it to anyone who likes V.C Andrews books or anyone that likes books about divorce or romance.

It was very good

Well, I've been reading VC Andrews for a while and all of her books are so DEPRESSING. This wasn't so bad. VC Andrews is very detailed in her writing, but there are some parts where a teen would definetely not do what Andrews wrote. So it's not exactly a teen book written by Francine Pascal or something. But it's still good (and short)

"We lived in such a perfect world. Why were we so imperfect?"

All Misty ever wanted was a normal family. But like so many others, Misty's parents didn't stay together. Now they use Misty to hurt each other, to deliver tiny cruelties in an endless stream. Misty knows her parents might love her. But Misty has an unspeakable secret that burns in the core of her very being: she hates them.

Misty isn't as alone as she thinks. She's about to meet three other girls who are just like her -- each one with their own dark secrets to share....
