Buxtehude's Harpsichord Works--Vol. 2

Ton Koopman's project of recording of the complete works (opera omnia) of Dieterich Buxtehude goes from strength to strength. The first volume of harpsichord works (Buxtehude: Harpsichord Works, Vol. 1) included the longest and best known pieces. This is the second and concluding volume. As before, Koopman makes his performances sparkle with energy and enthusiasm. If you already own volume 1, this volume is self recommending. If you don't have volume 1, start there.

The sixth volume of a complete works series, and the second part of Buxtehude's harpsichord works. One of these pieces (track 5) is newly discovered and recorded here for the first time. Ton Koopman is one of the world's foremost performers on harpsichord and virginals.
