EXTRA FEATURES MAKE THIS A UNIQUE MACHINE

PROS:LARGE METERS,RECORDER FADES OUT IF THE CD YOU'RE RECORDING RUNS OUT OF TIME INSTEAD OF JARRING HALT!(when making mix cd's i'll program my sony changer to run over 80 minutes, the last song a "FILLER". i use a dbx compander to even out the song volumes, push play on the changer and record on the pioneer at the same time, walk away and i'll have a nicely recorded cd with a pro fade later).with the remote you can manually fade in or out a recording, fade time adjustable from 1 to 10 seconds.
CONS:when finalizing sometimes the machine will stick. i took in to best buy for repair but no luck.the manual says"IF IT HAS'NT FINALIZED WITHIN 10 minutes YOU CAN ABORT BY PRESSING STOP".i just turn power off then back on and I HAVE A FINALIZED DISC! i don't wait ten minutes! i do it as soon as as the machine acts up. I'VE HAD NOOOOOOO PROBLEM WITH THESE DISC. they pLAy in my car on other cd players. the TOC is there! I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE WHO GOT TIRED OF ABORTING DISC AND JUST USES THIS AS A PLAYER.............these are some of my fav features, there are many more!

Double Speed Finalization, analogue sync recording and automatic level adjustment ensure the perfect recordings.Legato Link Conversion is Pioneer's original method of restoring the high-frequency sounds originally sampled during recording, which are not stored on compact discs. Legato Link Conversion calculates and introduces additional values to create a smoother signal, which is closer to the original sound. CD-R technology requires an extremely accurate pickup, employing a high-powered laser. Pioneer has developed a new three-beam differential push-pull pickup which achieves substantially enhanced write and read accuracy, with highly stable recording and playback. "CD-Text" allows you to record about 5000 English characters and numbers on the Read-in area. This enables indication of CD-title, music title or artist name on the display. Moreover, it is possible to record character information such as liner notes or words of songs onto the Program area. Pioneer's full-function SR (System Remote) control that's included with the PDR-609 Compact Disc Recorder lets you operate not only this particular unit, but other Pioneer audio components and video equipment (indicated by the SR logomark) as well.
