A salient feature of the management contract, which states the agreed-upon returns of the owner, is a consideration in performance testing. Performance tests play an important role in influencing the hotel owner's decision to enter into a management contract. Hotel management companies have been using financial performance tests based on returns, operating margins and revenue per available room.
