AWESOME
I got this book for my husband and also my best friends husband.. I wanted to read it
first
and HOLY COW this book was awesome! I loved the way how blunt and straight to the point in
man terms
this book was written.. HIGHLY recommend!!!!
Worth the read... For the real dad to be... (moms to be can read too...)
First
ly, ignore the TWO, yes TWO, negative reviews... There is always the couple of folks who "just don't get it." I picked this up a Baby's r US and thumbed through it while waiting to go on the "baby shower registration" escapade... I enjoyed the book so much, I bought it from Amazon.com. (only one copy at the store and it was beat up.)
The author talks writes in lingo that is not meant for the "wimpy" guy or the guy is so full of himself that he honestly believes that his stuff don't stink. This is written for the Football/Hockey watchin', beer drinkin', pool playin', laugh out loud kind of guy. The
survival tips
listed, both before and after the birth, were actually covered in our hospital's childbirth class... Reinforced actually, as I had already read them all here... This isn't an owners
man
ual for your NFU (
new family
unit), but will show you some great (and some not so) things about to come your way.

The guy is not a doctor!
My daughter is due in February and I got this as an early Christmas gift. I read some of those other reviews and laughed at the complaints that it's not a detailed book. The author states in advance that he's not a doctor and the book is meant to be a relief from all of those huge unreadable medical books. The critical
survival tips
are great and the glossary is very funny. It's a humor book for GUYS, not the Girlfriend's
Guide
. Buy it for what it is, not what you want it to be. - Liam, USMC
Entertaining and informative
It held my husband's attention and he actually took the
advice seriously
because it was obviously written by a "
manly man
" as opposed to some of the other books that I had him read. It was very humorous and offered practical advice focusing on after baby arrives. If you're looking for something to help him understand what you're gong through while you're pregnant, this isn't the book, but once you head to the hospital, this will give him some general direction (it is by no means a thorough instruction
guide
).
