Not what I expected...
I thought that this was a book about prayer and how to develop your prayer life. It really isn't. It's made up conversations about a
girl
talk
ing to
God
. The book is still good, but it's not what I thought, which was dissapointing.
Girl Talk with God by Susie Shellenberger
This book was referred to me by a minister at my church to begin a book club for our young women's ministry. When I began reading this heart to heart with
God
, I became blessed because although this book was meant to reach out to teenagers, there is truly something all women can learn if they are establishing a relationship with God or have an intimate relationship with Him already. I would definitely refer this book to females from all walks of life!

Girl talk
I got this book out of the library because I remember reading the articles in Brio where the
girl
has little
talk
s with
God
. I used to have conversations like this with God and I really wanted to get back into that and I feel like this book really helped. God knows everything in your life but he wants to hear it from you. I would reccomend this book to any Christian girl.
Interesting
This book is O.K. I'm not going to say it's great. Susie Shellenburger, the editor of Brio magazine has helpful things to say in this book, but the way she shares it (conversation form) can get a little confusing, and annoying. At some points, it's hard to follow. I also worry that it might be hard to relate to. You had to be in almost the same position as the
girl
for it to help. If she had written this information down as a devotional form, I believe it could be a great book, however, the way she chose turned me away.

LOVE THIS BOOK!
I actually purchased this book to give to my 15 yr old niece, but my 7 yr old daughter picked it up and began reading it. She loved it and read 6 chapters in ONE day. It is such a sweet book with great meaning and truth in it.

Most Christian teens don't know how to pray. And when they do pray, they don't know how to discern
God's voice
. In
Girl
Talk With
God, author Susie Shellenberger shows teens how to pray and challenges them to deepen specific areas in their lives through a series of conversations between God and a teenage girl. As editor of Brio magazine, a Focus on the Family publication for teenage girls with a circulation of over 200,000, Shellenberger has proven a keen ability to reach this often-misunderstood age group with her signature blend of casual, non-threatening teaching.
