Makes wonderful Thai Tea!
This brand of Thai tea was recommended to me by the proprietor of a wonderful Thai restaurant where we love to eat in Omaha, NE. After asking several times when we were in town, he finally broke down and told me where to get this brand in Omaha. Then I was delighted to find it on Amazon (because I was going to try to get my relatives to send it). What a lifesaver. Follow the directions on the bag for Thai tea just like the restaurant serves. I love it!
Authentic and enjoyable!
Tastes like what's served in Thai restaurants. Brews up nicely in the coffee pot, especially if you're looking to make larger quantities quickly. To cut back back on the fat and sugar, I enjoy with unsweetened coconut milk, which is apparently a traditional variation (can find in the Baltimore area in the Asian section of WalMart, Food Lion and Safeway--no luck so far in the local Giant). Makes it creamy and slightly sweet. Good value with the free shipping. Give it a try!
SOOOOO Tasty
I tried a few brands, but this is the BEST!!! BE WARE ... it stains :-(
I use 1/4 cup tea to 1 qt of water. I would suggest a good quality disposable papaer filter, cause this is really messy.
just like the restuarant tea
My husband and I love it. We just received it yesterday and are on our second pitcher. No more stops at the neigborhoor Thai restaurant just to get the tea. Just a couple of suggestions to for the home Thai tea maker: first use half and half instead of milk. It makes the tea nice and creamy. Yum. Also, you don't need the muslin strainer for the tea. I suggest that you go to your nearest Coffee Bean and get the "Ingenuitea" tea strainer by Adagio. The strainer at the bottom of the cup will strain the crushed tea leaves with little mess. If you want to know what it looks like just search "Ingenuitea" on Amazon. Good drinking. Smiles )Adagio Teas ingenuiTEA Dispensing Teapot 16-oz.
Tastes just like Thai restaurants.. just avoid using as much as they advise!
I love this tea. It tastes just like restaurants make when you add sweetened condensed milk (also easier to stir into iced tea than sugar). My only caution is that this stuff stains VERY easily. I used an iced tea maker with a bucket-style coffee filter to brew my tea and spilled a little bit on the counter while I was working and I had giant orange spots where the tea landed within a couple minutes.
Also, the bag tells you to use 4 Tbsp per cup of water- that means if you are making a gallon of tea you need to add about 4 cups if you follow the bag! This didn't sound right to me, and I do tend to like my tea strong. I decided to add 1/2c. of the tea per quart of water and it still turned out pretty strong.
