Learning the Electric Bass

Having decided to take up the electric bass late in life (I'm 60), I needed to surround myself with as many good reference books as I could find. After researching the various volumes out there, I ordered "101 Magic Rock Bass Guitar Patterns" from Red Dog Music. With absolutely no musical training and only a rudimentary grasp of the instrument, this book gave me the foundation that I needed to play the bass effectively right from the start. It is well written and can be understood even by a novice like myself.

While I am a vocalist in a country band (taking up the bass was suggested by one of my bandmates) I found the techniques and patterns discussed in "101 Magic Rock Bass Guitar Patterns" to not only be clear and concise, but easy to follow and apply. It is obvious that Larry McCabe knows and loves music. His books reflect his knowledge and teaching ability.

Dealing with Red Dog Books was a pleasure. My order was shipped immediately and arrived within a few days. I feel that I got my money's worth and was treated as a valued customer whose business was appreciated.
