Stuff blows up REAL good...

Not bad.. That was my reaction after watching the 4th installment of Rambo. This time round, Rambo has to rescue a bunch of dummies held captive by Burmese soldiers - in the most violent manner possible. WARNING: The last 15 minutes of the film is not recommended for the squeamish. Heads and torsos explode in a hail of .50 cal gunfire. No punches are pulled. In one scene, an entire village is decimated and the few survivors are forced to march through a mine field. "Happiness is a warm gun" indeed...

Rambo's plot is just as politically charged as the previous three films. Maybe that is a good thing - people may actually want to learn more about the situation in Burma, maybe even write a letter to Congress about it. Who knows, stranger things have happened..

All in all, the movie delivers what it promised. The "pacifists are stupid sissies" moral of the movie is dumb, but I was'nt expect anything complex from this movie.

MeaningFULL violence at its most horrific

This is the most meaningful and heart felt Rambo film ever made, let alone the most savagly vicious and ferocious. Rambo films were not tremendous examples of subtle art. Life's realities arent art work either, they are explicitly horriable in many ways, and the enormously brutal nature of RAMBO 4 perfectly displays this reality. And anyone who writes it off as "mindless", are most definatly absent of a mind or a heart.

The graphic depictions in RAMBO are so horrific, i think its the closest any film out of Hollywood has gotten to showing the truth in crimes against humanity. This movie is a wake up call....but yet isnt a public service announcment, nor is it preachy. Make no mistake, it does remember its a movie and its an entertaining one. Some of the best action ive ever seen in a film.

Mix the explosivness of 80s blockbusters with the reality and heart of a 'Saving Private Ryan' brutality, but pushed to the MAXIMUM. Youve never seen anything like this before. Now lets talk about acting and plot. The acting is nothing special. Nope. But it gets the job done. Again, what are you expecting from Rambo? The fact that Stallone injects lots of heart and honesty into this film is enuff i think for its genre. Stallone acted better in pervious Rambos perhaps, but thats all. In every other catagory, as far as the sequals go, RAMBO 4 blows them all a way...leaving only the first Rambo, 'FIRST BLOOD' as the superior work in the collection.

The plot is a worthy story, about a group of missionaries who wanna give a loving and peacefull message to a people that are in the middle of genocide, and in the midst of that, they get into trouble, and Rambo has to help them out of harms way. And Slyvester Stallones story has GREAT meaning becouse its about true events happening in the country of Burma that never gets any news coverage, and is the least publicised atrocity in the world. So Stallone revolved this Rambo film around it to bring attention to the utter carnage happening in Burma.

It isnt executed with the most depth, but i dont expect too much from an action film. People who are sipping wine and nibbling on cheese, need not apply. And why the hell are you watching Rambo in the first place? Unless your going to leave your ultra politically correctness at the door, you might as well skip RAMBO, becouse this will prove as too big of a dose of reality for you. Now if youre strong. Defiantly see this film.

ACTION!

You can't beat this movie for a pure action ride. We'll have fun, fun, fun til Daddy takes the guns away.

Symphony of Rage and Redemption

Best and most outlandish war film since Peckinpah's WILD BUNCH. Ultra violent, ultra stylized, but never condescending or patronizing; an adult film for adult audiences, and Stallone treats both the material and his audience with great respect. I understand Stallone was profoundly influenced by Ruggero Deodato's 1979 CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, and it shows in every unsparing, unforgiving frame. CH, however, endured rightful notoriety from too-realistic, nauseatingly real-time horrors; Stallone thankfully spares us that; but his depictions of human suffering are at times extremely tough to witness; yet he pulls us through it with sheer pulse-pounding adrenaline and a real gung-ho, get the baddies - and they ARE bad - most Americans are clueless about the true nature of evil in this world, and Stallone nails it perfectly.

Clint Eastwood is our Gary Cooper; Stallone, with this masterpiece, may be our new John Wayne.

Rating: 10 of 10. Bravo, Sly!

"This Movie Wraps Up The Rambo Saga Very Well"

I've been a longtime Stallone fan.I loved the"Rocky"saga.Especially the current release. It was sad to see that almost all of Rocky Balboa's friends and family were gone, most of all "Mickey"(Burgess Meredith)his manager,"Apollo Creed"(Carl Weathers)his opponent and friend, and his beloved soulmate/wife"Adrian"(Talia Shire),but he still came out on top,a true heroe. In the "Rambo"series,Sly shines again. In all the Rambo movies, you see a man driven toward a purpose, fulfilling the need to successfully complete his mission. The message in these movies is we are americans and proud of it.It also kindles a flame of pride for our many men and women, who enter military service to defend our country and it's freedom.Though I'm not a veteran myself.I am disabled with Cerebral Palsey.I am very proud of our veterans, who fought, and many who gave up their lives to help others in need, and keep our country strong. My niece,Megan Wahner,a 22 year old Marine, stationed in Aphghanistan, strengthens my pride in our nation's military. While some young people, are out worrying about their next party, shopping spree in Beverly Hills,Young people like Megan sits in a foreign land, dodging bullets, and hoping to stay alive,so she can go home to her loved ones again."Rambo"is not only a film to see,but to own as well.Though Sly's co-star and dear friend Richard Crenna(who died of cancer after Rambo 3)wasn't in this fourth film in the series,he did an excellent job of his portraying Rambo's commander Colonel Sam Trautman in the first 3 Rambo films.Richard would be very proud of his friend Sly.If you want alot of action in a movie, this one's for you.Rambo is tough, but has a heart for his fellow humans, and their well being.Stallone has always entertained me with his great films. This one is one of them.
