Great Album!

This is a must have album for every Keith Green fan. While I question the reasoning of behind some of the track choices, (I'm sure there must have been better recordings for some of the songs), there is an indescribable power in his live recordings that for some reason didn't make it into his studio albums ... as great as they were. This album will disappoint those who judge based on sound quality and musical arrangement. Often times, Keith even makes mistakes in his playing and singing. However, despite all of this, it is not difficult to feel the intense passion that was emanating from the heart of this legend. The DVD included with this album is all the more intense. Upon hearing this album and watching this DVD you will laugh, weep, and even question the direction of your life. I highly recommend this album to anyone looking to escape from the superficial and shallow world that Contemporary Christian Music was become. In the world of Contemporary Christian Music; there is Keith Green and then there is everyone else.

Keith Green, Live Experience, Special Edition

What I see in Keith Green's ministry is an arrow pointing to Jesus, and a love for lost souls. He was truly born again! That's what comes through, and that's what he would have wanted to come through. Primarily, he was a minister and an evangelist who preached the Gospel using the gift of music that God had given him, and obeyed the Lord when he felt the Lord tell him not to charge for his music or charge to attend his concerts(which were more like worship services.) If you want to be refreshed, stirred and encouraged in the Lord, in a day when much of the preaching is sterile and passionless, and often void of truth (google Keith Green Catholic Chronicles), I would highly recommend this CD/DVD. It's not about the quality of the music (which isn't bad) it's about the fruit of the Spirit. Keith Green was real.

keith Green-Still awesome

For anyone who is a Keith Green fan this is for you.All the songs are live and to me sound better than the studio versions.The album and dvd will minister to you and hopefully you can share it with people you know.It will wake you up.Keiths music still penetrates all generations with his no compromise message of Gods love.

Keith Green's music has been a part of me for so many years, but I never had the chance to see him in person when he was here on earth. These videos of his singing and talking are priceless. He is an example to us all to be as real and committed as he was. His love for the Lord is contagious and his honesty and simplicity is so refreshing. Watching him makes you think you are watching one of Jesus's apostles or one of the Old Testament prophets. God bring us more like him today.

Keith at his best

The biggest problem with Keith Green's music was Keith Green's music. Not the singing, or the piano, or the songwriting. But the production was often uninspired in a late-70s soft rock way that covered over Keith's playing instead of enhancing it. This album is the perfect antidote to that: a selection of Keith's most compelling songs, totally unadorned and live.

This album works on two levels: For those not familiar with Keith's music, it's the perfect place to dive in and see why he's a central figure in CCM history. You get great songs, presented pleasingly. You get samples of his speechifying: the humor, the passion, the preachiness, all of it. Plus, on the DVD, lots of other material to give context to his life and work. And for those who already know and love Keith, you get to hear neat variations on familiar songs, like the extra verses of "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful" that turn it from a song of adoration into one of confession. This album is a no-brainer for anyone interested in either CCM or piano-based power pop in the Elton John/Ben Folds department.
