Another Fantastic Book!

The saga continues! Isobel Noble has done it again! Deke's quest takes him far afield in this journey that's both physical and metaphysical. Inner and outer consciousnesses begin to come together in this complex and always entertaining second book. Sometimes second books are weak, but not this one! It's just as strong as the first. All those beautifully written sex scenes made my head spin and they moved the story forward in a most pleasant way. By the way, this book deserves 5 stars but I couldn't go back and change it after I accidentally published it!

Un-put-down-able!

After reading Ruin, Book One: The Tent City, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Book Two. When it arrived, I practically tore the book in my eagerness to look inside!

Well, I sat down to read and never put The City of Life down for four days! Everywhere I went, the book came with me. The characters (some continued from the first book in the series) consumed my imagination and I couldn't wait to see what happened to them next. I can hardly find words to talk about this story and how I lived into it. The action sequences and erotic passages are stunningly beautiful, as is the imagery and language. Wow, where is Book Three? The cliffhanger ending has me chewing nails in anticipation!

another good read

After reading the first book "Ruin, Book One: The Tent City" I couldn't wait to see what would happen to Deke and all of the other characters. This book takes Deke on a long journey and gives the reader new places to explore. As in the last book there are so many imaginative details about life in the future, it's just fascinating. The characters are well defined and the story kept me fully engaged. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five was because of the overdone sex scenes. I'm not a prude, and I enjoy a good sex scene, but there was SO much sex that it just became silly after a while. Other than that I enjoyed this sequel very much and look forward to more!
