Buy This Thermometer For Your Kids!

I first bought one of those thermometers that you slide across the forehead and suffered through 2+ years and frustration and inaccurate readings. I finally got tired of wrestling with my kids, trying to get them to hold still so the other one might work, which it rarely did anyway, and bought this one. Wow! It is such an improvement. I wish I had bought this one first or had given up on my old one sooner. The forehead model could vary by as much as 1 degree, even on back to back readings. This one does not. It is consistent. And my kids, ages 1 and 3, can hold still long enough to get a good reading without me having to wrestle them or make them cry.

we are both adults and got this thermometer for ourselves
sometimes its hard to read the temperature
we are never sure if we put it in the right spot in the ear and it usually shows different temperature each time
it is supposed to be very exact but I'm never sure whether I did it right or wrong.

Excellent product but over priced

After researching on what type, brand & model of thermometer to buy I decided on the Braun IRT 4520. The price on Amazon was $69.00. I always compare Amazon's prices to prices elsewhere and in my experience Amazon is not always comparable or cheaper. I checked online at Walgreens and Wallmart and neither had this product, did a web search and found that Target had this same product for $38.79 online and was also available in the store. Went to my local Target ,first time in a Target, and they had it for $38.79, come on Amazon the $30.21 difference is 44%.

I read the 2 & 3 star reviews and temp will vary from ear to ear, time of day and what you have been doing prior to taking temp. Also normal temp will vary from person to person, you have to establish your own baseline when you are healthy.

I took my temp 4 times in a 1 hour period and all were with-in 0.2 degrees, same for my wife, her normal temp was a little different than mine.

This is an excellent product and recommend you buy it, just not on Amazon, shop around.

ExacTemp light not so ExacT

The ExacTemp light is supposed to let you know you've done things right and have an accurate result. However, if I intentionally put it in the ear at the wrong angle, it still lights up, with the temp being 1.5 to 2 degrees off. So I don't rely on the light. I would've preferred a light on the display instead. I do like that this uses AA batteries and is much quieter in the ear than my older braun ear thermometer (which used those hard-to-find CR2032 batteries and made an awful click-ding when pressing the button.)
