Outdoor Photographer16 reviews

Werner Publishing Corporation, 2001

If you like landscapes....
If your thing in photography is outdoors- landscapes, sun sets, dawn, mountains, lakes, wild life, etc., then this is the correct magazine for you. The techncial level is just right for a serious amateur photographer, or even professionals. The articles and the ads are very useful. Price is good; results are excellent.

Love the magazine
I gave this subscription to my husband and he loves it....when he is done with a copy we send it off to my military son in Kosovo. As with a lot of men, my husband doesn't do a lot of reading....but he devours the articles in the Smithsonian! The magazine is packed with much interesting information....which he passes on to others, including me.

Why so sour on advertisements? This is a great mag.
It kills me the other reviewers are complaining about ads in magazines. As a writer, I can tell you lots of advertisements are a sign of a healthy magazine. The amount of text you get in the book is directly related to the number of ad pages. Fewer ad pages=fewer articles. Don't whine about the advertising. If you want magazines to stay around, get over it. As far as the magazine, this, to me, ...

Excellent magazine for every level of photographer
Wow. I subscribed to this one and Shutterbug. This one is packed full of tips, techniques and ideas that even a beginner can use. So far I like it a bit better than Shutterbug. But together they make a great arsenal for learning digital photography. I look forward to more issues of PopPhoto.

Great Read
I have been reading Shutterbug for a few months now and when I received the email from Amazon that it was available at a ridiculously low subscription rate, I jumped all over it. I received my first issue in the mail two days ago and I have read it from cover to cover once and am going back through it again. If you are truly interested in the world of photography and what is happening then this ...

Great stuff for kids and their grandparents!
I picked up this magazine for my 10 year old grandson in the airport and read it on the plane - wonderful fun! I decided I'd order it for him and came online to find all these 1 star-reviews! My copy is full of information and fun facts - I see only 4 ads in the April issue - all tastefully done and promoting recyling, fruit snacks, books and a new kids' movie. This is a great publication that ...

Boredom buster!!!
This magazine will help you do activities for holidays, school breaks, and the summer holidays. Our family always gets ideas for gifts to make for family and friends. Often we use the ideas in this magazine (games, recipes, crafts) to erase the word boredom from our vocabulary. We save every issue and have subscribed for over five years! We just renewed our subscription for another three ...

Architectural Dreams and Incredible Ideas
When it comes to architectural style, this magazine never misses a beat in showcasing some of the most fantastic designs. The variety of architectural genius is mind bending. No matter what style you're looking for, this magazine has it. One of my favorite things about AD is the breathtaking ideas for indoor and outdoor design. Some of the outside landscapes, especially pools with rock ...

Good for Kids
This is a great magazine and I highly recommend it. It has enough fun to hold kids' interest, and it has enough good and accurate information to be educational. This is one of those really good things where kids learn without realizing they are learning.

Digital Photo buff must have.
This magazine is wonderfull. I have seen magazines that you have to search through the ads (which often outnumber the articles) and this is far from that. The articles I have seen are current and deal with issues I as an amature dig pic buff want to know about. I higly reccomend it.

MAKE: Technology on Your Time12 reviews

O'Reilly Media

No true geek should be without a subscription
This fine magazine is a cross between WIRED, American Woodworker, Popular Mechanics and Scientific American. Each issue features four very detailed DIY projects, along with short descriptions and general guides to a few others. Combined with the DIY info, there is the usual mix of opinion articles, political commentary, news summaries, letters, articles about crazy DIY-folk, etc. The four ...

Great Gift! Granddaughter loves it!
I bought a subscription for my 9 year old granddaughter for Christmas of 2006. Rest assured that this magazine is not fluff! My husband (a psychologist) and I (a businesswoman-entrepreneur) read many of the articles and were amazed at the quality of information and guidance given. My granddaughter's only complaint is that it does not come every month.

Beautiful and educational magazine
Mi children love this magazine and it has helped them learn a lot about various topics. It is clearly written and the illustrations are great. Another plus is that it has no advertising. We especially enjoyed the one about nutrition and bugs.
