AJN: American Journal of Nursing 7 reviews
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins
magazine great, publisher stinks! This is a really great magazine for all levels of learning/nursing. As a student, I am able to learn a great deal from it. The publisher sent me 6 months worth of back issues as part of the 12 monthly issues that I ordered! I would have rather had my subscription run for the entire year instead of having 6 issues in one month and need to pay to renew this again so soon!

Linux Journal 8 reviews
Specialized Sys Consultant Inc
The Best I have been a Linux Journal subscriber since 1996. I look forward to its arrival in my snail mail box every month. It contains articles for varing levels of understanding, and is very informative. Some just right for me, and some of it is over my head. It introduces programs that I didn't know existed, new products, and instructions on how to do things. Don't listen to those who say that this is ...

Architectural Record 9 reviews
McGraw-Hill Companies, 2002
AR is truly the best Record can be a very provocative magazine that might encourage a person to actually go out and try 'Architecture'. Luckily I am an Architecture Major, but for those who are simply browsing to see which mag they are going to get into next. Trust me you definately want to read this one. It motivates your body, it stimulates the designer inside of each and every one of us; as well as it encourages ...

Communication Arts 9 reviews
Communication Arts
The only magazine that I keep back copies of! As a professional graphic designer and illustrator, I read a lot of the trade magazines, but Communication Arts is the only one I keep back copies of. I have had a subscription to this magazine since my art school days and I still look forward to receiving it in the mail. The magazine is beautifully designed with clean type and the feature articles are always interesting. It is well worth the ...

Foreign Policy 16 reviews
Foreign Policy
On Par With The Economist and Better Than Foreign Affairs Journal! I'm happy that I ordered a subscription to this magazine as it not only matches, but surpasses the content provided in the Foreign Affairs Journal. The student discount rate I received (at the official foreign policy website) has the most reasonable price. Each new issue of FP contains a barrage of perspectives on numerous topics that are very relevant today. Photos, graphs, and charts also help ...

Conde Nast Publications Ltd
Gush. WOI is just the best. If you are going to get one interior magazine, this is it. I've received WOI since the late 80's with only a few years of withdrawl (and those were sad times). It's creative brainfood and inspiration of the highest quality showing up in your mailbox every month... there's nothing better. No, really.

International Artist 10 reviews
Australian Artist
My Favorite Magazine I think that International Artist is the best art magazine on the market. It is always full of beautiful and inspiring paintings and consistently provides articles about a variety of mediums. International Artist also publishes some of the best art instruction books on the market.

Lenswork 6 reviews
Lenswork Publishing
Great shots! This is a 'small' magazine in size but large in terms of inspiration. The photographs and the stories are not so much focused on technique but more on the artistic values and philosophy of photography. Each issue includes an interview with an artist as well as one or more sets of photographs. The publishers are deeply involved in photography and often contribute their own images. Like good art, ...

Sky & Telescope 13 reviews
Sky Publishing Corporation
Look to the Skies through your Telescope I recently purchased the March 2008 issue of "Sky & Telescope: The Essential Magazine of Astronomy." As expected, this magazine is filled with advertisements for various telescopes and components. With my interest in photography, I found most of the ads very interesting and spent more time viewing and reading the ads than I would have previously thought. My oldest son has a student telescope ...

Ellery Queens Mystery Magazine 8 reviews
Penny Press
Enjoyable and reliable mystery tales Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine (EQMM) is the sharper image of its sister publication, Alfred Hitchcock's (AHMM). The stories are more polished, some have literary aspirations, and I'm more likely to find the well-executed twist in an EQMM story. While not every piece is a textbook mystery (some are police procedurals or psychological thrillers), all are good entertainment. Editor Janet ...

Natural History 4 reviews
Natural History Magazine Inc
Excellent Articles This is an outstanding journal. The articles are diverse, informative, and current. Other than possibly Scientific American, there is not better journal for the life sciences. An earlier reviewer critized the journal for not using the metric system. Personally, I do not find this to be a problem with a journal which is primarly qualitative and not quantitative.

Computer Power User - Cpu 7 reviews

THE best! I love CPU magazine. Even after trying several others (even popular ones like PCmag) I found CPU to be the most thorough in content and value. They have dozens of useful artices in every issue - somethings for everybody. From hardware and software reviews to how to build a PC and program. This magazine is a sure thing for PC modders (people who decorate and customize the physical look of a ...

Home & Design Magazine 1 review
Home & Design Magazine
a 5 star design magazine for the reader with traditional/transitional preferences Having previously subscribed to this magazine while living in California, I am glad to subscribe again. I have used many of the design ideas in this magazine--right down to the design of the traditional windows in my home. In that case, I contacted the writer/homeowner/architect by e-mail and got a very kind and helpful response about dimensions, etc. I have to make sure my dollars are spent ...

Foreign Affairs 20 reviews
Council on Foreign Relations
an unvarnished classic FOREIGN AFFAIRS makes no apology for its antiquated typescript, large print, and generally stodgy appearance. It hardly needs to.
It is simply one of the consistently finest sources of foreign policy discussion available from an American (thus *foreign* policy means USA vis-à-vis the world) point of view. The design folks have correctly discerned that toying with appearances could only ...

Asimovs Science Fiction 13 reviews
Penny Press
Some of the best science fiction shorts out there Regular readers of my reviews are probably getting sick of me mentioning Kage Baker, but I have to credit her for getting me to try a lot of things that I wouldn't normally try if she hadn't been a part of them. Asimov's Science Fiction magazine is another time where this is the case. While I have bought Fantasy & Science Fiction magazine every month for a while now, I would also check ...
