50% off the rate? The magazine is great, so I jumped at the offer to get it at 50% off from Amazon. I find it a bit deceptive, however, that this is the normal price for an annual subscription (check their website at www.dwell.com).
Why waste the time fooling your customers...who I expect are generally smarter shoppers. Thanks, but no thanks, Amazon.

Great for ideas I love this magazine, even the ads. I use it as a reference for ideas for decorating my house. You must look at everything in the pictures and dissect it. Then you can think of ways of recreating the look for less, maybe even crafting. I always send them to my Mom after I'm done with my issues and she loves them, but we like house decorating and if you don't then you won't like this magazine.

Metropolitan Home 13 reviews
Hachette Magazines, Inc., 2001
The Contemporary Aesthetic In Home Design I subscribe to many magazines, but of all the magazines I receive every month, my two favorites are "Dwell" and "Metropolitan Home," which both focus on the contemporary aesthetic in home design, renovation, and decorating. "Metropolitan Home" is my preferred magazine for decorating related tips, while I rely on "Dwell" more for renovation and design ideas.
I particularly like the comparative ...

Midwest Living (1-year) 2 reviews

You don't have to live in the Midwest! Being a resident of the midwest region of our country is not a necessary criteria for enjoying this magazine. While my family originates from the midwest, and we visit occasionally, I enjoy living on the east coast. This magazine offers more than just the regional perspective. It shares information in a friendly, warm and upbeat manner that is useful and often fun. It's a pleasant read with ...

ADdicted to AD This periodical is not only an investment purchase (save 'em and sell 'em on eBay), it is wonderful architectural and design training for your eye. My DH stacks it in the smallest room in the house, since it's always interesting while you wait.
This is a painless way to develop good taste. The only problem is to figure out how to copy your favorite idea for your own home on a reasonable ...

Avoid the Temptation to Presume Elitism ! OK it's pretty easy to presume this magazine has little appeal for the average person when the advertising focus is on $$$$ handbags and $$$$$ jewelry. But when you look at the long publishing history of Town and Country, you realize that it's not only the rich and famous that are reading it. There are simply not that many of the elite to keep this mag going. So what's in it for the average ...

One of the most popular is "Can This Marriage Be Saved" featuring a couple that is having marital problems presenting both their sides and then a counselor's advise. Other columns include "How They Met", "Animal Affairs", and "Raising a Family". Each month there is an article featuring a family that acquired a house through Habitat. ...

Beautiful overview of the Midwest's charms We've subscribed to Midwest Living for at least a decade, but after moving to Texas, I wanted to remain in the loop on attractions, events, restaurants and recipes in the Midwest.
Midwest Living features articles on uniquely Midwestern flavors (a recent issue featured Midwestern-inspired soups such as Great Lakes salmon chowder from Michigan, Kansas City steak soup, and wild rice and turkey ...
