Worlds Collide 14 reviews Apocalyptica
2-2 Ent. Llc, 2007
Nice work! I wasn't a fan of Apocalyptica before this album. In truth, I never even listened to them before this album.
I purchased the CD/DVD combo and it's excellent. The DVD has behind the scenes and the video for I'M NOT JESUS. NICE!!!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I don't really get into the German meloncollie rock like the song HELDON. I'M NOT JESUS, I DON'T CARE and SOS are ...

Inquisition Symphony 64 reviews Apocalyptica
Fontana Island, 1998
Here you have, one of the most innovative musical proposals in years! Apocalyptica is one of the most innovative and original ensembles ever existed. They possess creative muscle, expressive strength, bullet proof originality, mercurial energy, full rounded expansiveness and first rate technique.
This album is one of these overwhelming outbursts of volcanic inspiration. Literally every piece is a masterwork by itself. Of course, Harmageddon, Nothing else ...

Plays Metallica by Four Cellos 107 reviews Apocalyptica
Fontana Island, 1996
fantastic these guys do with 4 instruments what metallica sucked at with an entire orchastra.
you can tell easily exactly what song it is. each cello harbors the melodies that are used by each of the members of metallica, including percussion. for any real metallica fan, the songs, not sure if they are on this specific album (the may be on inquisition symphony) but the quintessential metallica songs, ...

Cult 29 reviews Apocalyptica
Spitfire, 2001
Nothing like it Let me put my 2 cents in real quick. I just went through the entire album, my sister has been trying to get me to for a while. Let me just say that this is never coming out of my CD player for a LONG time. Each song beautifully transistions to the next, and... it's hard to explain the emotions you get, its something you have to experience yourself. This is a music lovers cd, go and get it.

Worlds Collide 3 reviews Apocalyptica
Red Int / Red Ink, 2008
Metal Transcending Metal I have long been a fan of both heavy metal and classical music. I grew up listening to Black Sabbath, and later got into Dio and Metallica. My favorite classical music has to be anything with cellos in it. When I came across a video on YouTube earlier this year of four guys playing cellos covering a Metallica tune (Enter Sandman), I could hardly believe my ears (and eyes). Having checked out ...

Reflections 7 reviews Apocalyptica
Nuclear Blast Americ, 2005
This Is Interesting - Do Not Pass It Up The idea of a Metal band having a cellist is odd enough but when you add two more you are left with the wondrous creation that is the group Apocalyptica. This band clearly have taken traditional barriers and shattered the accepted with something completely out of left field. Mixing classical instruments with heavy music is not something that has never been done before (see the Metallica S&M as ...

Amplified: A Decade of Reinventing the Cello 3 reviews Apocalyptica
FONTANA UNIVERSAL, 2008
One of a kind. Apocalyptica is three guys (used to be four) who play metal on cello. Best known for covering famous songs by renowned artists (they first startled the music scene in 1996 with "Plays Metallica by Four Cellos"), they also write some magnificent pieces of their own, frequently featuring the collaboration of other bands such as HIM. Talented musicians, they're all classically trained, but they ...

Reflections 7 reviews Apocalyptica
Stunning Apocalyptica are an odd proposition. The outfit made their name covering Metallica and Sepultura songs on the cello, and by and large made an excellent fist of it. But where to from there if a band wants to be taken seriously? While the albums of cover versions were gimmicky, they caught the attention of many a Metal fan who had probably never considered Classical instruments or Chamber music. ...

Cult 7 reviews Apocalyptica
Polygram Int'l, 2001
Need more stars! Someone else commented "buy two - just in case" and completely agree. In fact, I did. I try to get people interested in these wacky cellist and loan it out often - but I NEVER want to risk being with out it, so I have a second copy. Totally worth the price of an import. I'm not a big fan of heavy metal. The music of Apocalyptica is heavy, yes - in the form of being intense music that you ...

Apocalyptica: The Life Burns Tour 3 reviews Apocalyptica
Red Int / Red Ink, 2007
Strait up amazing, a great heavy metal group I have followed this band since their first major lable release of metallica on four cellos. That was great in and of itself, but inquisition symphony, thier second release just blew that away by leaps and bounds, and had the beginnings of great original work. Now 10 years later, and 500+ shows, many of them sold out, and millions of albums later, this and is still very fresh, and as loud as ...

Bittersweet 8 reviews Apocalyptica
Umvd Import, 2005
"Bittersweet" is a bittersweet song! The single is very good. I would recommend it to anyone who also likes the Finnish band The Rasmus or HIM. It has the band Apocalytica and features the lead singer from The Rasmus Lauri Ylonen and Ville Valo from HIM. Causing a "Bittersweet" song with their collaboration. And with a huge chunk of "attitude" from Apocalptica. A must have single!!!
