Warp Records, 2008
Time Warped British Blue Eyed Soul This CD is a whole lot more than "A Little Bit of Feel Good," which is not only getting a lot of radio-play, but also appeared on both "NCIS" and "Grey's Anatomy" in the past few weeks. Though Jamie Lidell's a British bloke, he's got a voice straight out of the 1960's South. He's been likened to everyone from Marvin Gaye to Sam Cooke. My understanding is Lidell came from techno, but I have no ...

Multiply 1 review Jamie Lidell
Jamie Lidell Rocks! I love this C.D! Every song is high energy with a blues-soul-electronica beat. I don't know how to classify Lidell's genre but it's compelling. I haven't found anything like this probably because it's one of a kind!

Warp Records, 2005
Best "Blue-Eyed Soul" since Lewis Taylor He's labeled as Blue-eyed soul, but he's really in a class which includes Lewis Taylor and Van Hunt, a class which should be labeled True Alternative. This is one of the best CD's in my collection (I'd have to say top 3), I can listen to it all day every day and every single time is like the first time. It's great, it's classic, it's original, and I'm in love with this music. It compares only ...

Little Bit of Feel Good Jamie Lidell
2008 CD pressing of the first single lifted from the British Electronic Soul artist's third album Jim. Includes the Single Version and an ace remix from Senor Coconut. This single finds Lidell stepping further away from the disco-IDM sound and deeper into the vibrant, colorful Soul/Funk sound he explored to tumultuous acclaim on his 2005 sophomore album Multiply. Warp.

Muddlin Gear 4 reviews Jamie Lidell
Warp Records, 2000
Fantastically unconventional! Open mind music..... My first introduction to Jamie Lidell was his warbling R&B antics on the Super_Collider disc alongside Brighton techno misfit Cristian Vogel. While the connection between Vogel and S_C isn't too difficult to make, there is certainly a dramatic leap to arrive at Lidell's solo work. Muddlin Gear is a complete mind warp of an album. Its incessant use of effects and DSP alongside highly cut apart ...

Multiply Additions 3 reviews Jamie Lidell
Warp Records, 2006
An excellent addition to Multiply I'd only heard of Jamie Lidell when I heard his album Multiply for the the first time - and since I heard that, I've been dying for a bit more. I checked out his earlier stuff and found mostly incomprehensible elctronica, truly awful stuff. Needless to say, this is much better.
To start with, all of the tracks from Multiply have really catchy tunes. On this album, the tunes remain but in many ...

Phantom Sound & Vision, 2008
Japan version comes with live versions of 'Figured Me Out' & 'Little Bit Of Feel Good' as bonus tracks. British experimental-techno funketeer Jamie Lidell who made a name for himself giving mesmerising live multi-media performances in which the singer continually looped his own effects-laden vocals and beat boxing until a dense sonic landscape emerged. However, Lidell switched gears in 2005, releasing Multiply, a more traditional Prince-inspired ...
