Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band1168 reviews
The Beatles

Capitol, 1987

Landmark
From its elaborate cover (the most expensive in LP history), to its printed inner-sleeve lyrics, to its (in the original LP issue, anyway) toy insignia cutouts, to its complete lack of 45-r.p.m. singles, "Sgt. Pepper", from the summer of 1967, was groundbreaking in many ways. The Beatles, already the most famous musical entity in the world, had retreated from touring the previous year and ...

Rubber Soul633 reviews
The Beatles

Sid the Elf thinks Rubber Soul is the most underrated Beatles album
Whenever Sid is driving in his car on a crisp autumn day the first thing he thinks about listening to is some Beatles. And, Rubber Soul just might be the best album the Fab Four ever made. "Drive My Car," the first track is good, a solid single for the lads. But, Sid tends to dislike many of the guys' "hits." It's the second track, "Norwegian Wood," that really kicks off the brilliance in the ...

In My Ears And In My Eyes
This is a wonderful collection of twenty-seven of The Beatles most popular songs all of which reached number one in both the UK and the USA. Spanning the years 1962 (LOVE ME DO) to 1970 THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD this is a great album to introduce younger music lovers to THE BEATLES music as well as to ignite the memories of baby boomers. A short booklet with pictures of original record covers ...

Revolver [UK]823 reviews
The Beatles

Capitol, 1998

The Beatles '66
There's a reason why Revolver is a personal favorite for many Beatles fans: Sgt. Pepper may have been more innovative, and Abbey Road may be more pleasantly scatterbrained, but Revolver has better songs. It has "Taxman," which is one of the group's coolest numbers, what with that neat chord progression and those smug lyrics and the guitar solo that just screams "1966." It has "Here, There And ...

Let It Be372 reviews
The Beatles

Capitol, 1990

The last Beatle album
Often reviewed as a sloppy album it nevertheless is historic for the fact that they split up after this album. I am a Beatle lover, so I like most of their songs, but "Let It Be", "The Long and Winding Road", and "I Me Mine" ( from George) are classics. It's a must have for Beatle fans.

Great Album!
Although I tend to prefer The Beatle's earlier work, this album is one of their best in my opinion. Double CD and all the songs are great. Worth every penny! You really can't go wrong with any Beatle album.

This was my first Beatles' album--and it still sounds good!
Yep, I'd heard plenty of Beatles' songs. But when my brother gave me the LP (vinyl) of this album after it had come out, this was my first Beatles' recording. I wore it out playing it on my cheap record players and too-long-used needles. But it was a lot of fun while it lasted! The sound is a lot different from the early Beatles albums. There are some glorious songs on this CD--as well as a ...

The Beatles

Great remix of Beatles music.
I'm a huge Beatles fan (as my screen name suggests!), and I refused to listen to this CD until now. I'm a purist when it comes to the Beatles -- no covers, no remixes, no muzak arrangements, no alt-rock interpretations, thankyouverymuch. Just the originals. But my curiosity finally got the best of me, so I ordered a copy (truth be told, I just wanted to bring my order amount up to the free ...

Pop-tastic!
This album is seldom offered it right dues in Beatle folklore. In my humble opinion it is in the top three best albums they ever produced. I consider it the best "pop" album of all time. Any one of the songs on this CD could have been released as a single and been a hit in 1964. A lot of them probably could be a hit single now for that matter.

Metamorpho With the Beatles........
People. As you know, your beloved Metamorpho can transport himself to different eras. Or so I've told you. And you have no reason to believe otherwise because nobody knows what is real or illusion more than a true Seer. And complete devotion is required, but not a pre-requisite. So, believe me, even with your own limitations on "reality". But - to the point, I can travel time with the help of ...

Love (CD + Audio DVD)257 reviews
The Beatles

Capitol, 2006

LOVE this album!
A must-have for any Beatles' fan! George Martin (original producer extraordinaire for the Beatles) and his son Giles have produced an exquisitely mastered product. Highly suggest this double version: CD plus the Audio DVD. Costs MUCH more if you buy it at the actual show at The Mirage in Las Vegas. We purchased this, then went to see the show (which, by the way, has the longest contract EVER for ...

No "Spoken Word Intros" Like Volume 1, but Still Outstanding Material
The Beatles need no introduction when it comes to the elite of Rock/Pop music. When trying to "rank" the greatest artists of the Rock/Pop era, there is no doubt that the quartet from England ranks number one on just about every list. Going even further, the Beatles might be the top act in the history of modern music - among any genre. Some quarter-century after their breakup, the Beatles ...

Help! [UK]240 reviews
The Beatles

Capitol, 1999

What a terrific nostalgic sojourn!
The music on this Classic Rock CD represents the latter end of The Beatles' "early period" (of their three musical eras). It's one of the better albums they ever produced. This music is mostly of the happy sort, upbeat, and easy to listen to. But don't let that fool you into thinking that these compositions are not intricate and innovative as well. These songs broke a LOT of new ground when ...

The Beatles

Really great album
This starts out with "No Reply", a barn burner of a sweet song. A great version of Buddy Holly's "Words of Love". Who can forget "Babys In Black". The album is heavy on cover songs, which always had me wondering why when The Beatles were the best songwriters then and have not yet been matched.
