Grandson's Joy
Grandson just entered the US Air Force and isn't allowed much in the way of personal belongings. He IS allowed his treasured Stones music and was excited to receive Shine A Light from his Nana. Thanks

awesome set from The Stones
Hot Rocks 1964-1971 is an awesome two CD Stones compilation set that has so many of their best hits. This also makes a great introduction to the band, too, just as other people have said. The sound quality is excellent and the artwork is really nicely done. The first CD starts with "Time Is On My Side;" this classic Stones tune really rocks well and they deliver this with lots of positive ...

This is one of the best Stones albums ever!!! I love the way they poke fun (especially about New York in Shattered.) Every song on this album is different in its own way and you just cannot sit still. If you can sit still during this album you are surely dead. After dancing around for the whole album I am pooped. It is GREAT. One of their best.

Bloodrock
I got nasty habits. Small town boy, hung up on the only decent girl around. Eyes so blue they shoot me dead, the sky is grey with jealousy. Queue up for the bathroom 'round about 7:35, every Tuesday's early but her bad mood just makes me smile. Vain, private, recondite. Stylish! Why can't I resist this creature? Got class, cool, history. I actually cook for her. Think about her all the time. ...

Excellent, Excellent Compilation!! Missing an album of Material- however...
Fantastic journey through the blues soaked soul of the greatest rock band of the 60's through 90's. Amazing to see how their sound evolved through time- maintaining a tight signature sound that seems to always remain fresh. Truly a band- in that the sum of their parts far exceeds the contributions of each Rolling Stone! Simply Delicious... For a band with such far reaching influence, ...

Where do you go to my lovely?
I have to admit that I haven't seen THE DARJEELING LIMITED. The reason I have picked up the soundtrack is for the music, especially by Sathajit Ray. I am fascinated by Indian music and that fascination is what led me to pick up THE DARJEELING LIMITED. I love how the soundtrack is mixed between Satyajit Ray's film scores, classical music, and classic rock songs by The Rolling Stones and The Kinks. ...

Artistic Masterpiece, Commercial Flop
This legendary album was hailed both by critics and Stones fans alike whom consider it one of the very best efforts of their illustrious careers, although commercially it would be the worst performing record of the 24 albums issued between 1963 and 2005 reaching only #5 on the charts. Although it sounds absurd now, it was also considered a comeback by a band that at the time appeared doomed ...

fine the us versionis different from the uk version. let's spend the night together and ruby tuesday shouldn't be in this record. fine. but these are isignificant details: the bottom line is that this is a hell of a record. each is song is a little masterpiece, 'cool calm collected' shows that the stones (keef??mick??brian??) were actually much more sophisticated songwriter than they have ...

newer,brighter, cleaner!
If you're buying Rolling Stones Now! you are likely replacing an older version that you've lost or damaged. Don't wait, don't delay, you will appreciate the SACD remastering even if you don't have a SACD player. The old songs have gathered new strength while you've been just sitting there dreaming of your glory years.

Another great early Stones
It may not be as good as 12 X 5, but it's a good sampling of very Early Stones with Brian Jones. Take a listen to The Spider and the Fly. It's fun, a nice surprise, and my favorite cut on the ablum. The ablum is a little raw, but that's the way they were back then, in 1964 and 1965 and that's why they were one of my favorite groups. The Bad Boys of Rock N Roll.

It IS a SACD Hybrid if the copyright is 2002 ABKCO
I just got mine and thought the same thing the last poster did -- that Amazon screwed up and this isn't a SACD hybrid as advertised. But it IS one. If you look on the disk itself, you will the DSD and Super Audio CD. I was angry at first because I already have the regular CD and wanted the SACD hybrid, but after opening it I am a happy camper. FWIW, it is in a cardboard case and the case says ...

Passage of years has done nothing to dim this star....
As time passed by, my sense that this and "Out of Our Heads" were their finest efforts never really left me. Not to say that enormous chunks of wonderful stuff didn't follow, of course, unlike many bands who peaked on their early releases and never challenged again. I just loved the raw passion in the way they covered material like "Not Fade Away" "Hitch Hike" and "Walking the Dog," and made ...

Superb early years Stones!
This is a great collection of early Stones hits, spanning the period of 1963-1966. Certainly, fans of the '70s Stones may or may not appreciate this, but I have always been partial to '60s Stones, but I enjoy all Stones. Mick Jagger's voice is perfect on all of these. But my advice is don't buy this version of the album. If you can, try to hunt down the British version of this on the Decca ...

(4.5 stars) A ROLLING STONES CLASSIC ! (a little underrated and underappreciated, but it stands among their best albums)
The Rolling Stones' Aftermath was quite a big deal back in 1966 when it was first released. Their first album in stereo, it featured experimental instrumentation and arrangements, all songs were Jagger/Richards compositions (for the first time), and it included a #1 hit single with Paint It Black. It just got pushed to the back of the room when The Beach Boys released Pet Sounds and The Beatles ...

At Their Best
This was my favorite Stone's Album when it came out in the 60's in the 33 and a third vinyl record format. I was a teen and a Stones fanatic. This was when Brian Jones was still alive. In my humble opinion, the best Stones material was created when Brian was still alive. I don't much care for the stuff that came after. I still listen to the remastered CD and get a very pleasant nostalgia ...

12 X 5, great early Stone
Some of the younger Stones fans may not be aware that the Rolling Stones started out as a blues band. This album is very early Stones (1964), and in my opinion, in addition to Let It Bleed, it is one of the best albums they have ever done. Some songs rock, some are bluesy (?), and some are familiar, but all are great. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is interested in the Rollings Stones ...
