E=MC2 203 reviews Mariah Carey
Island, 2008
-Master Reviewer- Well, well, well. From the most successful female recording artist of all time comes an album full of memorable gems that are sure to please even the most critical of critics. Mariah Carey delivers a stunning performance on E=MC2. The first and most emotionally gripping track im going to share my insight on is Bye Bye. This song speaks of lost loved ones and the deep emotion Mariah exhibits is ...

Hard Candy Hard Candy Special Edition [Candy Box]
Incredible CD. Deluxe Edition is definately for the die-hard Madonna fans. The packaging is great but it could have had bonus songs, other than remixes of 4 Minutes, or videos of some sort. If I wanted remixes of 4 Minutes I would have bought the maxi single.

Ghosts I - IV 158 reviews Nine Inch Nails
The Null Corporation, 2008
Thirty-Six Tracks and Not One Disappoints This was a quick release with Trent Reznor releasing last year the political Year Zero. Oftentimes when bands come out so fast with another record they wind up wishing they hadn't, but that's not the case here. Trent Reznor left the record company he'd been with for a very long time to do his own thing. And doing his own thing is what he did here, putting out thirty-six tracks on four discs

Last Night 40 reviews Moby
Mute, 2008
Makes You Want to Bump and Grind Moby is probably electronic music scenes' most famous vegetarian and he has put out album after album over the years. He is up to his typical tricks again with this release. He has a way with beats and is known for being extremely outspoken (he's had verbal fights with the rapper Eminem on television more than once).
With this album nothing has changed. He has a way of putting down excellent ...

Third 123 reviews Portishead
Mercury, 2008
Almost too good to handle Sometimes I have to turn off this album because it's too just to good to take. The ten year wait was well worth it. The songs are a bit more grown up than the previous albums, as they should be, and aren't quite as accessible as the first two albums. You won't necessarily get up and dance, you may need a few listens of a song before it really seeps into you, but if you've been growing and ...

Bring Ya to the Brink 56 reviews Cyndi Lauper
Epic, 2008
Bring Me to the Dancefloor It's a confirmation. 50 is the new 30. Among those who have released an album at age 50 and beyond, Cyndi Lauper of yesteryear Girls Just Wanna Have Fun joins a handful of artists like Madonna and Donna Summer. And the good thing is Bring Ya to the Brink will definitely go down as Lauper's best album in decades.
A trip to Euro-land and hook-ups with Basement Jaxx, Max Martin, Peer Astrom, ...

Crayons 88 reviews Donna Summer
Burgundy S, 2008
Album of the year so far! What a stunning record, not a bad track on the whole thing. Unlike many of todays records that just recycle the same song over and over, here there are 12 distinct different styles to the tracks. I download and listen to new music daily and have been for years, i know what's good and what isn't, this thing smokes your speakers on a number of tracks.
For people complaining that she doesn't ...

In Search of Sunrise, Vol. 7 DJ Tiësto
Black Hole, 2008
Double CD set from Tiesto in 2008 with his album, In Search of Sunrise 7. On this outing Tiesto takes us to the Far East. ISOS 7 was completely mixed and recorded in Thailand. The first disc expresses the beauty of Asia, whereas the second one offers an energetic view on how trance goes down when it is played with an Asian flair. The track list reveals the genuine style of Tiësto put together in the In Search Of Sunrise 7 Asia. The concept ...

The Immaculate Collection 357 reviews Madonna
Sire / London/Rhino, 1990
Irreverent and fun collection of Madonna's early hits The cheekily titled Immaculate Collection contains the majority of Madonna's smash hits from the 1980s to early 1990, including such pop standards as Like a Virgin, Papa Don't Preach, Holiday, La Isla Bonita, and Material Girl. However, there are some other great slow additions that don't receive quite as much radio play in the present, including Crazy For You, Live to Tell, and Open Your Heart. ...

Mariah Carey - Greatest Hits 210 reviews Mariah Carey
Sony, 2001
Here's Where It All Began++++++++++++ Recently Mariah has been in the news breaking records set by the good ole boys (Elvis and the Beatles) and it's so nice to see her comeback to No. 1 again, besides she's looking great with the return to the charts.
The Glitter years are behind her now (her lowest point during her career) and she showed us how to brush yourself off and get right back up.
This collection reminds us of why we ...

Dummy 263 reviews Portishead
Polygram Records, 1994
Essential electronic album. What can be said that already hasn't been said? I don't think there's much. This must have REALLY seemed ground-breaking at the time: Backbeats that sometimes recall hip-hop elements and some real soaring, soulful vocals from Beth Gibbons. There's not a single bad song on here, and it's most famous for the awesome "Sour Times," which sounds at times like a James Bond theme with certain elements. ...

Earth Wind & Fire: Greatest Hits 89 reviews Wind & Fire Earth
Sony, 1998
All the Elements In their seventies heyday, Earth Wind and Fire were one of the hottest touring acts in the world and an unstoppable singles machine. Band leader Maurice White and main singer Phillip Bailey had a chemistry that was almost unbeatable, and top notch musicians brought the chops. White eventually hit a supple groove that was both funky and popular, and when the hits started coming, like "Shining ...
