Clapton Chronicles - The Best of Eric Clapton103 reviews
Eric Clapton

Reprise / Wea, 1999

Clapton brings it home
It's Slow Hand at his best; what else does anyone need to know? There's plenty of classic rock in "She's Waiting", "Bad Love" and "It's in the Way that You Use it" and a gentler, more reflective Clapton in "River of Tears", "My Father's Eyes" and "Tears in Heaven". For the fans of Runaway Bride, you can find him crooning the beautifully sad "Blue Eyes Blue". A personal favorite of any newly ...

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe98 reviews
Harry Gregson-Williams

Buena Vista Pictures, 2005

Harry Gregson-Williams did a great job on this Soundtrack!
If you are a director or producer or an important person looking for someone to create the music for your movie project, I have found the man! Harry Gregson-Williams is definatey someone you should check into! He did an excellent job on "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" and "Prince Caspian" scores. But this collection has to be my favorite! -"The Blitz, 1940" shows just how much that war ...

Angelo Badalamenti, John Barry, ...

Varèse Sarabande, 2003

Uplifts your soul, takes your mind into the heavens
I have been listening to great scores for many years and this collection is truly inspirational in so far as the choice of different scores takes you on a journey of listening pleasure matched by only a few collections. The price is incredibly reasonable for hours of listening pleasure. Don't pass this one up

The Papercut Chronicles24 reviews
Gym Class Heroes

Fueled By Ramen, 2005

Solid Indie Hip-hop Album.
I started listening to Gym Class Heroes a few years back, in mid 2005 I believe, and absolutely fell in love. I am a diehard hip-hop head at heart, loving emcees like Rakim, Eminem, Saul Williams, The Roots and the like...So the fact that this kid was saying some of the best, most original lines I've ever heard in my entire life amazed me. One of the greatest hip-hop lines I have ever heard is ...

Chronicle, Vol. 1: The 20 Greatest Hits252 reviews
Creedence Clearwater Revival

Fantasy, 1990

Classic Swamp Rock "MUST HAVE"
If there is a single Classic Rock disc to own, this would be it. When you consider this music provided the soundtrack to the Vietnam War, you might consider buying it to be owning a bit of history. Go back up above and read down those song titles. Do you have any fond memories associated with any of them? My problem, at age 56, is that I have a fond memory associated with EVERY ONE OF THEM. ...

The Trentemøller Chronicles1 review
Trentemøller

Audiomatique, 2007

sublime, peerless, manifestly amazing
My first experience with Trentemoller came from the outstanding 2006 essential mix (october 15) which completely blew me away with his mellow, ambient electronic tones. since then, my appreciation of other artists in this genre has been shaped by the standard that trentemoller set. it's of course little doubt that i ran out and purchased his album (the last resort, amazon link: The Last Resort) ...

Chronicles15 reviews
Steve Winwood

Island, 1990

A decent sampler but scratches the surface.
This is a wonderfully diverse sample of Winwoods 20 years of music making (at the time of this release) and all of the tracks are great. "Higher Love" was a well-deserved hit and "My Loves Leavin" is pure ecstacy. Yet there are far more lesser known songs on here that are also enjoyable like "Vacant Chair" and "Wake Me Up ON Judgement Day". The tracks from his 1982 "Talking Back" album are redone ...

Chronicle Vol. 2: Twenty Great CCR Classics36 reviews
Creedence Clearwater Revival

Fantasy, 1989

Top-notch collection of overlooked Creedence gems you can't hear on the radio
Like others have stated, I also find it annoying how radio stations will take three or four songs by each artist and wear them out to the point of overkill year after year while constantly overlooking so many other great tunes that deserve the same airplay given to the overplayed hits. This is exactly what makes Chronicle volume 2 a refreshing collection of songs for Creedence Clearwater Revival ...

Calcutta Chronicles: Indian Slide Guitar3 reviews
Debashish Bhattacharya

Riverboat, 2008

A 'must' listen. Highly recommended.
Our perceptions of Indian classical music may have hardly moved on since the Beatles absorbed Ravi Shankar's tingling sitar in the 1960s, but these superb releases from younger artists show how ancient forms are evolving as India emerges as an economic superpower. Master of the Indian slide-guitar Debashish Bhattacharya adapts the swooning tones of an instrument imported from Hawaii in the 1920s ...

The Workhorse Chronicles9 reviews
Mastodon

Relapse, 2006

Excellent DVD
This was exactly what I was looking for, it shows the band in interviews and when they are just hanging out on the tour bus, and then u get great live shows my favorite probably being Mother Puncher or Blood and Thunder. If you are a fan of or are just trying to get into Mastodon's old stuff this DVD is great! Mastodon is awesome live so check the Workhorse Chronicles out you won't regret it.

The Chronicles1 review
Lil' Keke

Hustletown, 2008

Classic
Ok I'm not gonna lie, I downloaded this the day it came out. I've been a Lil Keke fan since the late 90's and have been waiting for his new album to drop. This one was sort of a mini greatest hits from 98 to 2008. After I listened to it I knew I had to buy it so I ordered it off of amazon. The album is a classic, purely because of the oustanding production. I'm from Houston so this takes me back ...

Gram Parsons - Fallen Angel30 reviews
Elvis Costello, John Nuese

Rhino / Wea, 2006

A great account of HIS story!
Although there are biographies about Gram Parsons, and if you need a quick fix on exactly who Gram Parsons is, get this DVD. Back in his days, I never heard of Gram Parsons, nor the Flying Burrito Brothers, because his music never did hit smalltown mainstream rock and roll radio. But, several years ago, hearing him on an anthology of Emmy Lou Harris, I kept asking... who is this guy??? They ...

The Chronicles of the Beastman
Mr. Hyde

Psycho Logical, 2008

Explicit Version. Mr Hyde returns to tear the throat out of the Hip Hop music scene with his second full-length album, Chronicles of the Beast Man. As a core member of the Psycho Logical Records family, Mr Hyde has been pulling double duty as a solo Hip Hop artist and a hype man for Necro while out on tour. His solo debut Barn of the Naked Dead and work as a member of Hip Hop super-group Circle of Tyrants (Also featuring Necro, Ill Bill, ...

Chronicles69 reviews
Rush

Polygram UK, 1990

The only Rush anothology you'll need
Chronicles was the first. All others (Retrospective I&II, Gold) are copies and like a copy less focused than the original. To illustrate, the 2-CD Gold shows how flawed Retrospective I was. The classic Working Man left off Retrospective is on Gold. However, it was always on Chronicles. Yes it may not have Xanadu (a Rush classic) or By Tor and the Snowdog that was on Retrospective I, but due to ...
