Gomez
Virgin Records Us, 2006
best compilation I've ever heard
I've been a Gomez fan since 2002. I heard "Shot Shot" on Radio Paradise, and I was instantly hooked. I loved the sax, the drums, the vocals, the funky stops and starts, the electronic feel, everything. I vowed to buy In Our Gun. Then, same radio station, different day, I heard "Rex Kramer", with its cool harmonica and guttural growl of a voice, and was convinced I'd discovered another ...

Awesome as usual
All I have to say is that this album rocks. The music selection is great. Their cov er of No Ordinary Love by Sade is one of my favorite covers ever done. Simple Man could of been done a little bit better but i'm sure Lynard Skynard would of been proud. They rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love anything that is Bangles, and I glad I found this CD. That is because There is something unique about the Bangles, and owning this CD and others brings this out. I love their Harmony that they do so well. I love Susanna's music and songs. Her voice is the best music I have ever heard. I will always be a top fan of the Bangles, especially of Susanna Hoffs.

Knettergek...
The ballad of Robert Moore and Betty Coltrane had eigenlijk ook op Murder Ballads moeten staan... The Tower of song is beter dan ...

Quality-pops and clicks etc Human League remixes
While there are some pops and clicks on some of these recordings it is not because the recording source is suspect it is because the tracks that have those artifacts where created back between 1981 and 83 when samplers where hugely expensive- hard to get and didnt have much memory at all- the way the producer created most of the non stop unlimited remixes was with a good old razor blade and ...

Mixed bag
As others, I've been a Trio fan since the early 60s, and thought this would be a great collections. HOwever, this gets off to a terrible start. I think the recording of Love Me Not Tomorrow sounds like it was made in a garage, with them keeping the first take. If there is anything on this album that should have been thrown away, this is it. (It was considerably better by We Five.) However, I ...

The Rolling Stones

Nice change of pace
Some of the cuts on this CD have appeared elsewhere. Nonetheless, those items pulled together for this CD do a nice job of providing a different sound to many of the Stones' hits. Some of the live tunes are welcome, such as "Tumbling Dice," "Wild Horses," "Beast of Burden," "I just Wanna Make Love to You," "Live with Me," "Harlem Shuffle," "Mannish Boy," and "Thru and Thru." Some of these ...

Bright Eyes
Saddle Creek, 2006
Can he make a bad album, hell can he make a bad song?
Conor Oberst... whoever doesn't like this (this meaning bright eyes in general) has been so desensitized by the crap that runs on the radio daily that they like noisy rap, or pop boy punk. Every song of his puts me in a trance, a surreal state of mind where sometimes I sit and just stare. I can't say I have a favorite album, or song; they all are so brilliant that there is no way to pick. If ...

Great Stuff
These are wonderfully written songs by some of the best. The air of soulful harmony the Girls bring to each song is just perfect. Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters is better than any version Elton John ever did. This is one of my most-played collections.

Groovy Tunes
Leave it Hip-O-Select to deliver a major retrospective multi-CD set on the Supremes by combing through the Motown archives. The 48 tracks are mostly alternate studio tracks which gives a meticulous collector a rare opportunity to actually hear Motown create music, though the CD's stand alone with a fresh sound that has been dusted off after digging for these gems that were buried deep in the ...

I waited forever for these mixes to come out on CD
I soooo thrilled they put this CD out. I bought it the minute I found out about it. I was especially thrilled to get my hands on the remix of "With Every Beat Of My Heart" (I believe there is also another good mix of that song from the 12" single which Sony should consider putting out at some point if they have a chance) I also bought the Cyndi Lauper and Expose' budget dance mixes collections ...

WOW!!!
I put off buying this album for a while. I was so sure I would hate the remixes, I didn't want to spend that much money on it. I shouldn't have waited. These remixes are actually good! Ashford & Simpson's music was NOT destroyed! I still like the originals better, but this a GREAT album! It's great to finally have "Everybody's Got To Give It Up" and "One More Try" on CD! (I still wish ...

Turning Like Forever
With the untimely death of John Stewart, it is great to find these newly rarity Cd's. John was, in my opinion, the greatest songwriter ever. He never got his dues he richly deserved. I only hope they find more rarity's not only of the Trio, but more unreleased songs by John, like those in the Secret Tapes Cd.

Sarah McLachlan
Nettwerk Int'l, 1997
I bought it for "I Will Remember You" and now I love the whole album!
If you have never heard of Sarah McLachlan then it is time you were properly introduced! This is such a great cd! Forget the fact that it's an import and that you may have to pay a little extra for it! It's worth EVERY penny!! Sarah McLachlan has a voice that is both captivating and wonderfully haunting. I find this cd relaxing, but not so much that you drift off. Alot of Sarah's lyrics are ...

I love you, Cyndi!
"Hey Now! (Remixes & Rarities)" is a little gem of a remix album with some great tracks. 1. Hey Now (Girls Just Want to Have Fun) (Junior Vasquez Lounge Remix): Interesting version. Slower and more reggae than lounge, Ms. Lauper's rerecorded vocals are quite good. 10/10 2. You Don't Know (TM's Know-It-All Mix): I likes it! The tribal drums and synths are gorgeous! 10/10 3. Exhaustive.
An exhaustive overview of pretty much all b-sides and rarities by the Cure during their tenure on Fiction Records (1978-2001), "Join the Dots" is a critical collection for fans. Around five hours of rare Cure music is contained within the four CDs of the set, and while some of the material left out can be annoying (more on that in a minute), this is a superb resource for any of us who try and ...

Not the same stuff that you hear all the time so that is very nice. She always has a wonderful voice and I love the songs she has chosen for this CD. I highly recommend it-most especially if you are a Sarah McClachlan fan...as I obviously am.
