Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation 21 reviews
Xbox 360 | Namco, 2007
What's not to like? I didn't play the previous versions of the game, I started with 6. It is a BLAST. The planes are cool and the fighting is FUN. The graphics are AMAZING. I don't understand some of the other negative reviews. Yes the cut scenes are silly but they have a certain melodramatic humor to them, and we buy video games for the game play, not the cut scenes.
I needed something good after BioShock, ...

Correcting for Yaw In the world of flight simulation, there are many ways to pilot the aircraft that come with the programs. For a couple of years after getting my first computer, I was held to the keyboard and later adding the mouse for controlling various planes and helicopters. It wasn't to hard to control, but certainly not very realistic.
Having enough of those controls, I got a joystick with minimal axis ...

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight 158 reviews
Windows | Microsoft, 2004
Love it. Less taxing on your system than Flight Simulator X My son Henry and I enjoy flight simulating together. Our last version was 2002, and the 2004 version is far superior. Most noticeable is an increase in the graphics quality of terrain and clouds/weather. The realism of 2004 is certainly acceptable, and is closer to "X" than to 2002.
More importantly, it runs acceptably (even nicely) on lower horsepower machines...I have it on a Sony laptop ...

Saitek Pro flight Rudder Pedals 29 reviews

A very good addition to the Flight Sim experience I have had no "lock-up" problems at all, and I find the construction of these pedals adequate, if not excellent.
I might be able to relate to some of the criticisms if I were into "slam-the-stick, jam-the rudder" combat sims, but for my general aviation sim use, they are fine.
I have a minor problem with the toe brake sensitivity and brake lock up, but I haven't experimented with the ...

Great Yoke and Throttle combo Have had it about two weeks. Works great. No problems. Had to install drivers off disk for clock to work. Didn't install programming software so I can't comment on that. All the buttons and switches make controlling the various functions very convenient and they're easy to reprogram in FSX. The quandrant is great after trying to control throttle, mixture, and prop pitch with the joystick and ...

Sins of a Solar Empire 61 reviews
Windows | Stardock, 2008
Bombing planets? Where do I sign up? By doing a real-time strategy game mixed with elements from turn-based games (or 4x as they call it; Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate), Sins was doing something daring. They succeeded, to an extent.
First, it should be noted that although this game will work on most computers, it is capable of bringing the most powerful machines to their knees. Sins allows players to build a map with ...

IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 31 reviews
Windows | Ubisoft, 2007
This is a fun game! After reading so many great reviews, I decided to purchase this game. It is very well done! What I like most is that you can set it to whatever level you want. Don't want to deal with stalls or blackouts or whatever and just shoot down planes? Turn them off. Want to deal with the whole enchilada involved in flying? Leave them on. The graphics and sound are great. You can set up your own missions- ...

Rail Simulator 14 reviews
Windows | Electronic Arts, 2008
For my Son I have a younger son who wanted to play with trains but we did not have any room for a setup. At the simple level, he only needs three keys to to play and the number pad to change the views. So for us, this is great. Good family fun. Worth the special price Amazon had it up for (9.99).

X-Plane v 9.0 3 reviews
Windows | Valusoft, 2008
A better simulator than Flight Sim X I purchased both X plane and Microsoft's Flight Sim X for the purpose of using them for some home flight training. As a simulator X plane 9 knocks the socks off Flight Sim X. Flight Sim X was simply too easy and the controls a tad unrealistic. Simple things really bothered me like the fact that the turn coordinator is there simply for show (it doesnt work) Flight Sim X is also a real system ...

Over Flanders Fields I bought this for the sole purpose of playing Over Flanders Fields, a World War I add-on for CFS3 available at www.offaerodrome.com
Despite numerous known glitches like incompatibility with virus software and jittering with dual core processors (fixed with an AMD dual processor patch) the software was easy to install.
The simulation is good looking and fun to fly, but due to the ...

Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration Expansion 21 reviews
Windows | Microsoft, 2007
Great addition, shame no P51D I bought this with a voucher that I received for my birthday and as an avid FSX pilot I wasn't disappointed. The new aircraft are both detailed and interesting to fly and come with new missions too.
The documentation is in typical 21st century game style almost completely absent. Long gone are the days of a weighty manual to help you through all the switches and procedures! This is great in ...

Great Game For WWII Buffs! A great ace combat/flight simulation/action game, especially for those World War II history buffs out there. And if you're a particular fan of the war in the Pacific theatre, you will truly enjoy this game! The details, graphics and historical content of this game are pretty authentic, and lend an added aire of excitement and enthusiasm to it's play. The instructions and controls are fairly ...
