Polyominoes: Puzzles, Patterns, Problems, and Packings2 reviews
Solomon W. Golomb

Princeton University Press, 1994

Even better the second time through

+ Ultimate book on polyominoes by the inventor.

One of the most eagerly anticipated second editions in the history of mathematics, the wait was worth it. Literally defining a whole new area of recreational mathematics, the problems and proof techniques introduced in the first edition have kept an entire generation of mathematical thinkers ...

Mathographics2 reviews
Robert Dixon

Dover Publications, 1991

Computer Art in basic

This book has many interesting examples in it of symmetry and computation. I have been able to use it as a source of material in my computer classes. Students love the visual stimulation, as well as the computational structures. More complete code examples (particularly for the 3D part) would have ...

Islamic Design: A Genius for Geometry (Wooden Books)2 reviews
Daud Sutton

Walker & Company, 2007

An interesting book

+ great little books

I haven't looked at it in too much detail but it has plenty of cool, trippy looking geometrical patterns. It actually shows you how to make all these patterns as well. Nice.

Arabic Geometrical Pattern and Design (Dover Pictorial Archive Series)4 reviews
J. Bourgoin

Dover Publications, 1973

must have

+ Geometry made easy

Arabic Geometrical Patterns are not so easy to find, not to mention understand their knowhows, this book clearly displays a very wide array of examples with simple step by step instructions displayed on the same platform, i was searching for a book like that, this book is quite enough, it is not ...

Regular Polytopes4 reviews
H. S. M. Coxeter

Dover Publications, 1973

Great.

+ A classic
+ Classic

Thi is an excellent text that I recommend to anyone seriously interested in geometry. The book enumerates all n-dimensional polytopes and aids in visualizing multidimensional space. The book could be improved with computer graphics of the polytopes, but otherwise it is perfect.

Mosaic and Tessellated Patterns: How to Create Them, with 32 Plates to Color (Dover Pictorial Archive Series)1 review
John Willson

Dover Publications, 1983

Not what I expected, but still very useful

The book introduces the basic types of tessellations and presents many examples. Note that the book title say "32 plates _to_ color" and not "32 color plates". The "look inside" feature shows already colored tessellations, but they are not in the book. It's not a problem, but don't expect to get ...
