slow

+ a very good read

If only action packed sword and sorcery fantasy novels are to your taste you should carefully avoid the trouble to look for this out of print book which I happened to purchase for a rather outrageous price. It is extremely slow paced, with longish descriptions of magic theory and magical duels ...

A Strong and Sudden Thaw19 reviews

Iris Print, 2006

For me, it was the language

+ A Blast From The Past.
+ Excellent storytelling

For me, it was the language. Crisp and clear, like a bright winter's day. Honest, matter-of-factly, like the farmer's boy who tells the story. This is not one of those dialogue-driven books. The characters don't talk very much, neither David, nor David's father or any of his family. Feelings are ...

Great Series...

+ Wish I'd read it when I was a kid...
+ A Pawn or An Active Player?

This novel as well as the other two that follow Magic's Pawn is amazing. I have not gotten so attached to a character in a very, very long time. This book was loaned out to me because I was looking for a good fantasy read. Well I found one. I really do feel for Vanyel and actually shared his ups ...

Wicked Gentlemen- A Joyfully Recommended Title

+ a little uneven, but still thoroughly enjoyable
+ Better than I expected

When Inquisition Captain William Harper comes to Belimai's lodgings, seeking Belimai's help in finding his sister, Belimai agrees to take the job. The case proves to be ...

A little gem of fantasy humour

+ overall good story
+

Who can not laugh out loud at Darvish's drunken escapades and Chandra's mullish determination? ..and cry at Aaron's past... A little story where all 3 characters are truly "brought to life" in the reader's mind. The interchange between the characters and their relationship is expertly done. ...

Seventh Window Publications, 2006

Wonderful, charming, romantic . . .

+ A Very Good Read!!
+ Sweet story, too short

Lovely, lovely book. It's a quick read, but I feel myself drawn back to re-read it again and again. The main characters are likeable, there is real connection and kindness in the interactions, and much rings true. The journey to Bath is interesting and makes an intriguing backdrop, and the sex ...

Luck in the shadows

+ Best for the characters
+ Is is possible to fall in love with a trilogy of books? Yes, I think.

Another great book from this author, it is really difficult to put it down and you find yourself not wanting it to end, great escapism and very well written. You really need to have the whole trilogy to hand though because once you finish this one you will, I gurantee start on No. 2.

Original and refreshing. A delightul and unique M/M romance fantasy.

+ What lies beneath
+ By the content of their characters

I have a wonderful time reading this. The setting is magical and enchanting, the writer's descriptions vivid. If this her debut, I am in awe of her talents. The writer has created a fascinating world occupied by Shifters (shapeshifters who are not animals but they do have different coloured fur or ...
