Gurdjieff: A Biography3 reviews
James Moore

Element Books Ltd, 1999

Actually it's a good book

+ Scholarly and helpful objective history

I'll just say briefly that this book is the best biographic text of Gurdjieff available, and while it is a bit prolix it is not purple, as someone claimed. Actually I find it almost novelistically readable.

One must 'see' to understand

+ Understanding Gurdjieff
+ Nothing much to discuss

This book, as all of Gurdjieff's works, are meant to make you 'think'. There are a many great gems in this book. However, like a great 4th Way teacher, he doesn't just hand them out like candy. You have to have the eyes to 'see'. This book answered many questions for me, it was a great read.
