The Good Neighber = An Excellent Read!

+ Excellent character study
+ Marriage Is Marriage?

Outstanding character studies, dialog, situations, and downright believability. It was easy to insinuate oneself into the story and become a partaker/present observer.

William Bernhardt

Ballantine Books, 2004

Loved It!

+ Further exploration

Mr Bernhardt writes legal thrillers like no other. When it comes to Ben, Christina, Jones and Loving, he doesn't disappoint. This was a well written story, that really disturbed me when it came to the details of the beating. Too sad to even imagine. The court room theatrics are the best and the ...

Lynn Flewelling

Spectra, 1996

Luck in the shadows

+ Best for the characters
+ Is is possible to fall in love with a trilogy of books? Yes, I think.

Another great book from this author, it is really difficult to put it down and you find yourself not wanting it to end, great escapism and very well written. You really need to have the whole trilogy to hand though because once you finish this one you will, I gurantee start on No. 2.

Harvest Books, 2003

Can Across It Randomly

+ Gritty and garish, tough and tender, romantic and real
+ Fantastic read!!!!

I came across this book randomly while looking for gay themed historicals and from the very first chapter I was hooked. The main characters are strong and complex with all the weaknesses of the flesh and judgement, yet still it is love. Though I dislike cliqued "gay" stories where there are never ...

Full Circle

+ Insightful and Great for Younger Generation to Read

When a story hits home, then that's the making of great literature. The characters are in their prime of life, learning to cope as they grow olders. Mistakes are made, but can be overcome. Excellent reading.

Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2002

The first Bosch novel. A great book and a must read for series fans

+ A Triple Noir Introduction to a Great Detective Series
+ Intriguing debut; interesting way to start a new series

The Black Echo is the book that started it all, the book that began Michael Connelly's career as one of the best police procedural/detective thriller authors in the market today. I've read around half of Connelly's novels, so I know all about Harry Bosch and I know what to expect when I read a ...

While England Sleeps: 2A Novel18 reviews
David Leavitt

Viking Adult, 1993

Sad, yet Truthful

+ How far we've come
+ It really touched my heart

I read this novel in a day and a half because I found that I could not put it down. Brian, to me, seems like an average guy who is a bit shallow and only interested in fast sex. Edward, on the other hand, is more sensitive and committed to their relationship. Brian has a lot of fears because of ...
