Cirque du Freak: A Living Nightmare 240 reviews Darren Shan
Little, Brown Young Readers, 2002
Excellent
+ Excellent for kids and adults! + First in the Cirque du Freak series
I bought this book for my son to do his summer book report. He liked this book so much and asked me to order the rest of the series for him. Then I ordered the book set 1-4 and he finished reading them in no time. I guess I will need to order another set for him soon.

Dracula (Signet Classics) 341 reviews Bram Stoker
Signet Classics, 1986
An old fashioned tale that doesn't offend
+ AN ACTUAL REVIEW OF THIS NAXOS AUDIO DRAMATIZATION + There is more than meets the eye
Bram Stoker's "Dracula" was first published in 1897, and as one reads this work, it is overwhelmingly apparent that it was written during a time when morals and virtues were held in a much higher regard than they are today.
The book is comprised primarily of various journal entries from six ...

Nightmares and Fairy Tales, Vol. 2 3 reviews Serena Valentino, FSc
SLG Publishing, 2005
Applause
+ Decently done. + Sequels...
I am much more fond of this book than the first. I found the Domonique story of the first book to be sketchy. Lots of piecework, almost as if pages were missing-with all of the nightmare and none of the fairytale promised. I do like the other tales in the first collection, but overall I feel that ...

Eragon (Inheritance, Book 1) 2693 reviews Christopher Paolini
Knopf Books for Young Readers, 2003
A wonderful book to hear
+ One of the Best Reads Since Dracula
I enjoyed listening to this book as I worked. The writing is descriptive and allows you to lose yourself in the story. After watching the movie, I recommend listening to these unabridged cds. The reader has a wonderful, clear voice that gives life to all the books characters.

Before Disney changed things and made everyone think Fairy Tales are all about Bambis and fuzzy bunnies, Fairy Tales were dark, disturbing, and always had a meaning. Serena Valentino attempts to bring those fairy tales back to their dark roots, with art by FSc. And, for the most part, she ...
