Chinese Herbal Medicine: Materia Medica, Third Edition 15 reviews Dan Bensky, Steven Clavey, ...
Eastland Press, 2004
Great Reference
+ Great resource + Great Book. It is the Merriam Webster of the Chinese Medical Herbs Reference
I need this book for a class in Chinese Herbal Medicine. I'm excited about it and it's companion Formulas and Strategies. Pretty neat. Hard to find a comparible resource of it's type. It lists hundreds of herbs and their nature.

Clinically Oriented Anatomy (5th Edition) 61 reviews Keith L Moore, Arthur F Dalley
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2005
Excellent Text!
+ THIS IS NOT A REVIEW OR AN ATLAS, BUT A GOOD TEXT! + Its got talent
This is an excellent text no matter what health profession you are in. I very rarely read the text. The pictures accompanied with the tables are basically what I used. You would see the picture and have a table of origin, insertion, action and nerve. If you really want to go into depth then you can ...

Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine: A Comprehensive Guide 2 reviews Giovanni Maciocia
Churchill Livingstone, 2004
Excellent TCM Source
+ Traditional Chinese Medicine
This is an excellent book for TCM practitioners. It covers a wide variety of diagnostic techniques all included in one book (rather than having to buy 20 short books with similar info). From face diagnosis, to nail diagnosis, to in depth pattern recognition (for thin necks to swollen ears to ...

Pulse Diagnosis (Paradigm Title) 1 review Li Shi Zhen, Shih-chen Li
Paradigm Publications (MA), 1985
A good reference book
Ive been reading TCM books for some time now. I find this book full of uselful information. But it could include some graphs or pictures about the points used to taking the pulse. It only explains their positions in a small paragraph and in my opinion not very well. But I still think it is a must ...

The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine: A New Translation of the Neijing Suwen with Commentary Maoshing Ni
Shambhala, 1995
a solid paraphrase for the practitioner
While this book is sometimes criticised for its lack of scholarly style, it is important to realize that the writer is approaching a 2,500 year old work, the seminal theoretical treatise of Chinese medicine, from the point of view of a clinician. It is frankly not much easier for native speakers ...

The Foundations of Chinese Medicine: A Comprehensive Text for Acupuncturists and Herbalists. Second Edition 23 reviews Giovanni Maciocia
Churchill Livingstone, 2005
For basic concepts on TCM, this book is easy to understand
+ The secret to using the Index + This book you must have
Highly recommended by some of my professors, I eventually purchased the book and am very happy I did. There are other books in the market explaining basic TCM concepts including diagnosis and meridians / points, but this one seems to do it just that one last bit more clearly - perhaps the fact that ...
