House of Leaves

+ Very Different

House of Leaves is, arguably, Danielewski's greatest and most defining work to date. It is hard to sum up what HoL (as it is known to many fans) is, but it is most definitely not the typical book. Finder16 reviews
Greg Rucka

Bantam, 1998

Spoilers?

+ A Solid Step Up From Comics
+ Another strong outing for Kodiak

So I'm about 1/2 way through Keeper (the previous novel) and I decided to order Finder since I'm enjoying the Kodiak character. Unfortunately the Amazon review of the book gives away the (an?) ending to Keeper in the first sentence. I guess it's expected but annoying nonetheless.

Killing Floor (Jack Reacher)179 reviews
Lee Child

Jove, 2006

Reacher at his best

+ An over-the-top mystery
+ Great introduction of Jack Reacher.

Lee Child`s creation is brilliant for a series of books, the transient Jack Reacher finds himself in tiny Margrave, Georgia, and is almost immediately arrested, if briefly, as a murder suspect. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that one of the victims is his brother, a brilliant U.S. Treasury ...
