I purchased the jack-in-the-box for my grandaughter. Not only is the box pretty and not scary but it has been lots of fun for the entire family. Big brothers, mom and dad and grandparents love winding it and watching everyone reaction when it pops. A must buy!

Good, old fashioned fun
Kids of all ages love this toy! Should be supervised for toddlers and younger. For babies and toddlers, it teaches patience, fine motor skills, listening skills, sharing, following directions. It brings a smile every time. One 4-yr-old student loved mine so much that he saved his money and bought one of his own. This one was a great price. Just don't drop it - I broke my first one that way.

Unusual Jack in the box.
I wanted to get a jack in the box for my 1 year old..and was looking for something more colorful and unusual. This has wonderful illustrations on outside and the gnome inside is just as colorful. The only thing I would change is the tune.."pop goes the weasel"

Not for toddlers
When the gear is turned, the 'puppet' just sits there stuffed in the box. It doesn't automatically pop up. You have to use a hand to urge it to come up. Also I found that toddlers don't understand the clockwise/counterclockwise concept and try to turn it the opposite way. My girls love this toy!
I bought this for my daughter who is one year old and her sister 3 1/2 years old loves it just as much as the younger one does. It took my one year old a week or two to be able to turn the knob and make the bear pop up. The toy is well made and cute. It was a hit at her birthday party too and all of the kids were older than her.

I bought this for my newphew who loves it to pieces! The only fault I had about it, is that the metal it's made from bends and dents easy and blue sometimes don't pop out. Other than that he loves his jack-in-a-box!
