Tucker--The Man and His Dream [VHS]62 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Joan Allen

Paramount, 1998

Tucker
This was a very informative and enjoyable movie. Anyone that is into old cars or likes to learn about unusual cars that never made it, this is your kind of movie. It is about the Tucker automobile that was one mans dream but was stopped before it could become a reality. This is a very good movie.

King Kong (1976) [VHS]204 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Charles Grodin

Paramount, 1996

A Classic In It's Own Right...
I have watched all three versions of King Kong and though the first version is and always will be a classic, my favorite of all is this version with Jeff Bridges, Charles Groudin and introducing Jessica Lange in what I think is a wonderful portral of a dizzy blond aspiring actress. I know she got a lot of flack for her portral but she is, "Acting" after all which is what she is supposed to be ...

Thunderbolt & Lightfoot / Movie [VHS]30 reviews
Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges

MGM (Video & DVD), 1992

Classic Clint
Hadn't seen this for years and saw it mentioned on a Eastwood TV tribute so I bought it. What a great trip down memory lane. Classic early Clint with great performances from the other actors. Felt like I was up watching the Million Dollar Movie at 2am.

Hearts of the West [VHS]7 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Andy Griffith

MGM (Warner), 1998

Genuinely sweet, genuinely funny, and urbane cowpokes too
This film is full of scoundrels and opportunists and still manages to make life seem delicious. Long before Gwenyth Paltrow was famous her mother, Blythe Danner, was known by aficionados as someone that picked superb material. She's here as The Girl, savvy but still sweet enough to fall for the truly endearing and monumentally naive Jeff Bridges. Alan Arkin does a sublime high strung director ...

K-PAX [VHS]197 reviews
Kevin Spacey, Jeff Bridges

Universal Studios, 2002

Brilliant
What a performance. what a movie, suspense, intrigue, it had it all. Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges were equally wonderful. Whoever wrote this story was brilliant. I truly believed Mr. Spacey was from K-Pax. His handling of the other mental patients showed a depth of understanding and common sense no doctor could begin to understand. Obviously Mr. Spacey had walked a mile in their shoes.

Last Picture Show [VHS]96 reviews
Sam Bottoms, Timothy Bottoms

Sony Pictures, 1994

Excellent Movie, A Classic
As a man who collects movie's of all type's as one of my hobbie's ( I Have Over 300 ) I thought this was an excellent movie visually and as a period peice. In addition, it is the first movie for Cybil Shepard and the ONLY time she ever appeared topless on screen The part by Ben Johnson was excellent as always and if anyone is interested in the lifestyle in a small Texas town in the ...

The Big Lebowski [VHS]722 reviews
Jeff Bridges, John Goodman

Gramercy Pictures, 1999

Three thousand years of beautiful tradition... & there goes the marmot
One watches this film and it's, like, perfect. Sheer perfection. The Coen Bros... tuned into an astrological constellation or something, the stars were aligned, and out came a film that is not a film as much as a monument to the art of filmmaking. When you catch that feeling, you can't go wrong. Baby. The film is a testament to friendship, authenticity, untethered life force, the beautiful ...

Morning After [VHS]21 reviews
Jane Fonda, Jeff Bridges

Warner Home Video, 1998

MORNING AFTER: Fonda, Lumet, Bridges--Fantastic
I may have rated this four stars when it was made in 1986 but in this era of comic book movies, I'm pushing it up to 5 stars. First, what is immediate from the very first frame of film, is that Jane Fonda can really act. She is a blackout level alcoholic who wakes up, finding a man in bed next to her who is stabbed through the heart and dead. She spends a lot of time alone in his loft ...

Last Unicorn [VHS]581 reviews
Alan Arkin, Jeff Bridges

Family Home Ent, 1994

True to original text
This movie is such a wonderful accomplishment. The music is fantastic (America from the 70's..remember?) and the script keeps so true to the original text (which really pleased me!). The casting is great...Angela Lansbury does such a fantastic job as Mommy Fortuna. I can't imagine you would be disappointed in this movie, not only because it's great for the whole family, but because it is so ...

Jagged Edge [VHS]30 reviews
Glenn Close, Maria Mayenzet

Sony Pictures, 1994

If I wanted to see a competent thriller with a professional and polished cast, then why did I choose a Joe Eszterhas flick?
Joe Eszterhas had throat cancer so he got religion. He had to learn to speak like a robot through a reconstructed larnyx. It almost seems as if he has repented of his evil ways -- and good for him -- but he hasn't written a hit movie since. A case could be made that his best movies are pure evil, so trashy and manipulative that you can't believe the audacity of the man. Showgirls and Basic ...

See You in the Morning [VHS]7 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Alice Krige

Warner Studios

One of Jeff Bridges best! Realist portrail of divorce.
Excelent movie, one of the most stiking features was that no one was vilified. Realist depiction of two people who simply drifted apart. This movie may not be action packed, but it's very romantic and enjoyable.

Fat City [VHS]18 reviews
Stacy Keach, Jeff Bridges

Sony Pictures, 1994

A brilliant portrayal of life's harshest realities...
One of those films that gets better the more it sits; `Fat City' is a truly astonishing portrait of the undying burden of broken dreams. The film takes three individuals, all resting at the bottom of their respective lives, all striving for something better, but it's getting there that proves the most disheartening. Tully is a washed up boxer whose age is getting the better of him. He used ...

Against All Odds [VHS]34 reviews
Rachel Ward, Jeff Bridges

Sony Pictures, 1995

One of the best edited, easy-to-follow car chases ever!
There are lots of reasons to love this movie, and while most reviewers note them, not mentioned is one of the absolute best car chase scenes you'll ever see in a movie. The editing is such that you can actually FOLLOW what's going on. Just another reason this movie is a must for my collection!

Blown Away (1994) [VHS]32 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Tommy Lee Jones

Underrated action thriller

When his friend, Ryan Gaerity (Jones) goes out of control, McGivney escapes to America and changes his name to Jimmy Dove. He's married now and has a family. After a long career defusing bombs, he's retiring and planning to teach. Unfortunately, Gaerity has other plans. He's bent on revenge against ...

Rancho Deluxe [VHS]36 reviews
Jeff Bridges, Sam Waterston

MGM (Video & DVD), 1998

Terrific film
Count me in as a perpetual fan. I've probably seen this movie more than any film other than the ones I've participated in. Fun story, terrific social and comic writing, character creation, acting, etc....what's not to like? I agree with what one reviewer said of Slim Pickens. An amazing comic performance--exaggerated, yet incredibly subtle. I liked Clifton James so much that I later found out ...
