Remembering the first time I saw this.
I knew very little about Dune until the movie hype. I remember going to see it in Lubbock Texas. Some of the early reviews were coming back negative, and yet it looked exciting. I was not really impressed with my first viewing. I liked this movie after reading the books. The movie was my gateway to the book series. The new series put out for TV has a lot more, true to the book events.

Laura Palmer is dead . . . wrapped in plastic . . .
I am taking a trip to the Seattle area this week and decided that I wanted to have lunch at the Great Northern Hotel, owned by Benjamin Horne (est. 1927). The hotel, which offers its guests a spectacular view of Whitetail Falls, is located slightly north of Twin Peaks, just below the base of Black Lake. The Great Northern is actually the Salish Lodge, perched on a hillside just above Snoqualmie ...

Pretty good for a TV movie.
Admittedly, I only bought this movie because I am a huge fan of CSI's George Eads. When the DVD arrived, I expected to enjoy it moderately. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Perhaps I'm biased because it was filmed in my home town of Fort Langley, BC (which at the time of purchase, I didn't realize) . . . The acting is pretty good all around, I think. Some parts are ...

"Twin Peaks" was the ultimate cult TV show -- suspenseful, complex, hilariously written and with hidden layers that casual channel-flippers might not catch. And though it's only eight episodes, the first season of David Lynch and Mark Frost's "Twin Peaks" is a brilliant piece of television, with a dozen subplots all somehow linked to the mysterious death of the beautiful, troubled Laura ...

A VIBRANT BLENDING OF REALITY AND LEGEND
This is my favorite Oliver Stone movie, and while I do think he might have been a bit over-the-top in trying to deify The Doors, and Morrison in particular ( I mean, this was also the age of Cream, The Who, Jimmy Hendrix, The Kinks, The Stones, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Creedance Clearwater, etc... ), the movie resonates with the feeling of rebellion that defined the era, and ...

I used to own this movie on Laser Disc. Anyone remember those? It's fun and sweet and has great performances by Steve Guttenberg, Shelley Long, Jamie Gertz and the little girl who plays piglet.

short, sweet and to the point
It's not overly complex and it's not profound, but the actors are good in their roles, the movie has a nice pace and interesting scenes, plus Shue it hot in this film. It's a great weekend afternoon flick on a dreary, lazy day. The only other movie I'd compare it to is Judgment Night, due to the overall feel of isolation and desperation.

One of the greatest movies ever
I was at the VHS section of Hollywood Video and saw this movie covered in dust, along with all the other VHS tapes. I thought it was weird because VHS tapes are the latest technology! Anyway, I didn't hesitate to rent this because it was very critically acclaimed and is generally considered one of the greatest films of all-time. The dude at the cash register laughed and said, "This is one of the ...

Why won't they release this on DVD? It's too good!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of those rare, and virtually unknown, movies that really makes your brain fire on all cylinders. A fantastic cast that gives stunning performances, very well directed, an eerie but realistic atmosphere, and special effects that don't make you wince. Plus, it's a "true" story that portrays both sides most convincingly. This movie will please those who believe in extraterrestrial ...

A prime candidate for the full box set on DVD
Twin Peaks is the crowning achievement of David Lynch. If ever a television series deserved to be produced in a box set on DVD, it is Twin Peaks. The mix of mistique and the cast of "special" characters make this a unique look at reality.

Great move--TERRIBLE DVD
I give the movie five stars. The DVD, one (see below). I won't focus much on the merits of the film aside from saying that the story of the film is one of the most important works of the twentieth-century and is central to the modern, and post-modern, human experience. I saw this movie at the Angelika in New York when it came out. One of Hollywood's crimes was not giving it a distribution deal in ...

I loved it while it was on tv and love it more now!!!
SJP is a great actress and her co-actress are the icing on the cake. If you never had 3 girlfriends to pal around with, you do now. They touch on many issues that girlfriends talk about and have real answers to real problems. Get it now! I love this series.

If you like espionage action with light humor, sexual tension and lots of high-energy tackles (on the fighting gun-toting front, anyway) you'll appreciate this movie. There actually IS a plot too!! I liked it most because I like Kyle MacLachlan. His screen presence never fails to disappoint, from "Dune" to "XChange." Check it out!!!

...AND DON'T SPARE THE SPARE RIBS!!!!
Obviously I need to first address the 4000 pound brontosaurus in the room, regarding this adaptation of The Flintstones. Why was Rosie O'Donnel cast as Betty Rubble? She doesn't quite match the proportions of that sassy slender cartoon version, does she? Made no sense to me then, makes no sense to me now. Still, gotta admit... I liked this one. This was another movie I waited a few years for ...

The best thing happened ever
This series is truly the best thing ever to happen to this planet. For all of you out there who doesn't know this: The series consist of 30 episodes and a film (Twin Peaks - Fire walk with me). Episode 1 (The pilot) and 9 (the first of season 2) is 90 minutes each and the rest is 45 minutes long. The film is about 2 hours and 10 minutes. It all begins with the discovery of Laura Palmer's body. In ...

One To Own
The finest and most famous of David Lynch's films often requires repeated viewings for one to appreciate it. It's quite accessible - far more so than his particularly cryptic projects - but its earnest celebration of small-town innocence, lurid depravity and oddly deadpan performances are likely to challenge the most weathered sensibilities of those few remaining uninitiated cinephiles. By ...

This movie is one of the best! from Laura Palmers day to day good girl, bad girl personas to "BOB's" nightly visits to the small seemingly innocent town of Twin Peaks this is a must see for horror, fantasty movie lovers. a definate 5 star movie.
